I never write reviews, but I wanted to for this awesome product. I have been buying the Sunny Bay XL heating pads for close to 15 years. I wanted a natural grain, no electrical cords, “safe when unattended” way to have warmth on my sore back at night when going to sleep.They stay warm for hours especially under the covers in the bed.We had 2 cats at the time I bought my first pad for myself. After a few years, when they got older; I noticed I would heat the pad up, lay it on the bed, and by the time I got to bed one or both cats were lying on my side of the bed on the pad.Then my husband kept borrowing my pad for his shoulder.Finally I decided to buy everyone their own, in their own colors. So I ordered 3 more.My senior cat, as he got older, became noticeably excited every time I’d heat his up. I suppose he knew his old body felt better lying on it. Many pet-bed warmers are electric but I didn’t want electrical cords for safety reasons. This way I can safely heat it up for the cat before leaving the house without worrying about leaving a cord plugged in.The covers are washable. So it’s easy to keep them clean. I replace the heating pad only if a seam eventually become loose and I find grains on the floor OR after a few years of microwaving the grains eventually shrink.I keep the covers of older heating pads because they are extra covers for laundry days.As you can see from the photos we have a 3rd family member who didn’t have “his own”. He does now of course.The pads are well made and stay together longer than other grain/rice heating pads brands I have tried. Yay! I do love when I find a product that doesn’t need improving, so I can stop looking.

Doesn't get warm/hot.
I read all + reviews. I find that the pack needs heating longer than 3 minutes. Warning states: "Do not overheat; risk of fire." Any time longer than three minutes give off a "burn" smell. Help. So many good reviews. Use good quality microwave. What to do?Duchess

BEST EVER - BUY THIS ONE!
I've tried a few of these, but this is the best hands down! The size is so perfect for any area of the body, but the fact that it covers your whole back is AWESOME! If you need moist heat, buy this! You will not be sorry. But don't forget that you can freeze it too. It feels amazing for cooling too!

Great for back pain
I have had six back surgeries and two neck surgeries so with that and fibromyalgia I'm in pain most of the time every day. I have one for my shoulders and neck so when I saw this one I got it and love them both. They are made good too
