Best walkies models we have tried!
This is the 3rd brand and model we have tried. We use walkies to communicate with each other in streams when fly fishing. Right from the beginning these models looked tougher. Then we charged them and walked around our neighborhood to judge distance and sound quality. Right away the sound is louder clearer and comes through in our neighborhood in a longer distance from our house than any other models we tried. The value is also excellent...4 chargers, 4 walkies, 4 earbuds for hands free fishing...we never had 4 of everything or earbuds and the price is very reasonable for all of these products around $50. when just two walkies were $20-$30 and poorer quality! Next we tried all 4 earbuds...1 out of 4 had the mouth piece not work. No worries there were instructions in the box to email the company. So just days later when we were about to email...we see all these emails from them, asking how the walkies are and how we like them and what else can they do...how timely and customer service over the top refreshing and rare. We didn't have to go out of our way...just replied, explained the situation, asked for one replacement earbud within a couple weeks, and how should we return the bad one. Well, Cathy could not have been nicer more responsive she was really great!! In days we had a new one and she said don't worry ourselves about sending back the bad one. Just a pleasure to work with her and Bit Trading!! How incredible it is when companies care!! We will let you know more when we beat these things up fly fishing, can't wait. Oh and the best part--they talk to you, so when you turn them on or off they say so, and they say the channel so you know you are all ready to go and take off down stream--these are them=Greaval Walkie Talkies 4 Pack Long Range 2 Way Radio Handheld 16-CH Two Way Radios (Pack of 4)=keep you posted. Clear Comms & Versatile.
Bought these for use on a 5 acre lit with few obstructions. They come pre-charged but we charged them overnight. There is some assembly required to out the belt clip on but it's pretty simple. Comes with a small lanyard and an earpiece. When it powers on it has a verbal "power on" and then tells you what channel it's on. When you switch the channels the voice kicks in to let you know which one you went to. Nice touch since with as many channels as it has it could be difficult to make sure you're on the right one without it. The channel switch knob stays put but the potential is there for it to loosen up over time and could drift by accident. As with any radio, you'll need to hold the button down and give a moment before speaking and continue to hold for a moment after. The push to talk button is OK, but probably the weak point for extended use. It's a soft rubber covered button, and over time I can see this rubber wearing out. I'd like to see a hard plastic button here for longevity. As far as audio, it's Loud and Clear! It has an LED light, but it's not very bright. Could probably use it to read a little text at light or see where a key is going. It strobes as well. Nice add, but not likely to get used a lot. We've found that more often than not it gets turned on by accident which is a potential battery drain. For an inexpensive radio, I'd say this is a 5 star purchase. If you're needing something for a job site you can't go wrong. Having dealt with the 200 buck radios from the big M brand, it's not worth paying more. Those units are more durable, but not enough to make me pay $150 more per unit for. Really the only thing going for those is the encrypted network, but most job sites probably don't have a use for the extra security and pain of programming whenever you need a replacement. Those of us having dealt with radios know that durability doesn't really matter much because they'll get destroyed (or lost) as quickly as this inexpensive one. Can't speak to how they'll handle wet weather long-term yet. Here in FL it's something we deal with frequently, but as long as you're keeping it somewhat protected I think it'll be OK.I like the individual chargers so everyone can have one in their desk, but it would be great to have a multi-unit charging station, too. After my first initial purchase of a 4-pack to test, I picked up an additional 2-pack. The 4 units is a great value, so you can't go wrong there. Always get a couple extra radios. They get misplaced or lost all the time, and you'll need to swap to recharge. As long as these are available, they'll be my go-to as needed.

These are very nice radios,
But they do not work long-range with rolling elevations. If elevations are not an issue for you, then I recommend them. Unfortunately, I am returning them.

Radios are worth the price
Purchase a set of new ones and a set of used ones. The used ones seem to have 4 to 5 hours extra battery life than the new set. I thought perhaps there was different wattage since it did state they can change it from 5 W to 2 Watts, so I switched batteries on the radios same performance . So basically it’s the radio itself didn’t get a chance to actually test out the wattage output. Easy to program using the chirp free software downloadable.

Worked great for a few months!
Loved these for our restaurant when we first got them. All of a sudden, 5 months later, only 2 of them still work. 4 of them are unable to hear anything. It’s just static. We tried changing headsets and changing channels but they still aren’t working. I guess I can’t be too upset because of the price? 💜

Very nice for trhe price
These radios impressed me. Quality is good, sound is great, range is exceptional and they're easy to use. One thing i looked for was ease of use for younger kids and something that didn't have so many controls that would make it to easy for the kids to accidentally change the channel, or turn it off and these fit that requirement nicely. Great little radios and at a very good price. I would rate them much higher than most of the walkie talkies you might buy at any local big box or sporting good stores and i've tried several of those brands, even the much more expensive motorolas.

Four of six chargers didn’t work
Only two of the six battery chargers work. Cant be sure of battery life because chargers don’t work The actual range is 1/2 mile or less good price but quality? Not so much.
