Purchased these small carabiners as a “ step up” in pick-pocketing prevention for backpack zippers, personal item airplane bag zippers, and large luggage zippers. I use these in conjunction with high quality travel-safe bags (e.g., PacSafe and Travelon) that have slash-resistant fabric and straps. The security feature of these clips is that the carabiners can be “locked” by turning the small mechanism at its center…left to unlock and right to lock. Yes, the mechanism is difficult to turn initially; I used a strip of the plastic type jar lid opener material to lock and unlock the carabiner multiple times. It becomes easier to turn and can then function to deter theft. A bit pricey, but highly recommend.
