I bought these to be rarely used, but we tested them before using them the first time and they worked as planned and were a great purchase for our needs. We occasionally go to picnics bring your own everything BBQs and we aren’t into grilling so this lets us still enjoy a hot meal since it takes hours for folks to prepare their meals. We’ve brought chicken d]fried rice a couple times and it was so perfect. NOTE: the place we go has outlets so I’ve never used the car plug in feature and likely never will.

This has been a lifesaver during a recent health crisis. Due to a recent injury, I am not able to stand long enough to prepare meals, and my 80+ year old husband is very likely to turn on a burner wander away and forget that he has left something cooking.Consequently, we have been relying on frozen foods for the past 10 days. Not the tastiest solution, but certainly the most convenient. However, they are all made to be reheated in a microwave oven, which we don't have and don't want. But this electric lunchbox does the same job quite nicely, if considerably slower:Dump the meal into the stainless container, plug in the lunchbox and walk away. Come back in an hour or so and dinner will be hot and ready to eat. No fiddling with buttons and timers, or transferring food to pots or pans for heating on the stoveWith 100 watts of power, it cooks faster than most of the other brands. Yet, as far as cooking appliances go, that is an incredibly low wattage, on par with Easy Bake ovens. This is a very good thing, there is no danger of an overcooked or burned meal.The stainless steel container is easily large enough to provide a meal for two and as soon as I am able to be up and about I plan to stock up on homemade soups, casseroles, and meals that can be frozen in the pan, then removed, wrapped well, and kept on stand-by in case something like this happens again. I've been spending my time in bed selecting recipes and making grocery lists.It comes with both an AC and DC connector, and though we have no reason to use it while in the car, but I like knowing that we could. As it is compact and lightweight, I can certainly see how useful this could be for hotel room cooking on long road trips.

This will heat your lunch from refrigerated to hot in a little less than thirty minutes. Works great in my truck DC power adapter and in the AC wall outlet in my office. Holds quite a bit of food. Very convenient to use and has the insulation carrying bag, spoon and fork in a compartment in lid.

Quality is ok, I don’t expect it to last long. The “stainless steel” where your food goes is probably plated or something. Definitely not pure stainless. Hopefully it works ok. Probably going to go back to the hot plate
