When I received the magnifier lamp, the power on/off button did not work consistently, and Amazon immediately shipped me a replacement lamp. Upon receiving the replacement lamp, I set it up and had the same problem as I did with the first unit; however, I kept switching from the USB plug-in to the AC adapter socket as I did with the first unit, and noticed the AC adapter was extremely hot, so I unplugged the adapter and plugged the USB connector into a USB port and the lamp works perfectly now. When talking to Amazon Customer service they were notifying the manufacturer of the problems. THE OVERALL QUALITY OF THE LAMP BASE, MAGNIFYING LENS, AND BASE ARE EXCELLENT AND I WOULD PURCHASE THIS UNIT AGAIN.

Safety first, It is too bad that this does not come with a cover for it. If the sun comes through your window when you are not home and creates a focal point, it could burn down your house. Easy fix though with some cardboard/paper/cloth and tape, or throw a Crown Royal bag over it. Purple is a regal color.I very much enjoy this on my desk just for hanging out. I lie to myself that I don't need reading glasses. This product enables me to continue to lie. I don't need glasses to see the computer but reading a pill bottle or paper instructions? This thing does the trick.Good for computer desk because of the flat base can fit under the keyboard.Good for sewing because of the flat base can fit under the machine.There is a LED indicating that the lamp has power. Its really bright and annoying. Cover it with electric tape or black nail paint.Almost lost a star for no sun cover and annoying led but I've used it so much I cant stay mad.

Very helpful magnifying light for jewelry making. I wish the base were a bit more sturdy. Overall, I find it very useful.

I thought I would use this from time to time with my crochet. Turns out I use it a LOT more than I expected to! Helps with my crochet, as well as other small tasks and crafts. As a bonus, the light source let's be adjust the lighting for taking pics of my creations to share, and I am getting better results than with other lighting set-ups I tried.I didn't get it for this feature, but the fact that it works so well for it was a wonderful bonus!I would recommend!

Mother’s Day gift and she loves it. Compact enough for a small desk for big enough to use for whatever is needed.

I'm starting to have to wear glasses and i keep buying stronger ones for projects that come up. I set this up on a table and it really has helped my repair snags, fix my watch, threading a needle etc. The closer I bring my face to the glass the bigger i can view it. I think it's wonderfully so far. -It doesnt have a long neck, not super tall and it's been pretty sturdy for me.
