Promotes Compassion
"What Type Am I?" is an excellent place to start if you want to understand the 16 main personality types. This book explains the strengths and weaknesses and helps you to finally understand everyone in your life. Of all the books I've read based on the Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator (a questionnaire) I think this one is the easiest to understand. This book is also filled with really funny cartoons. The author really does a good job of helping you understand others and also encourages you to accept yourself. Once you have figured out your personality type it is fun to figure out your spouse and friends. I was not totally surprised that my best friend and I have the exact same personality type. We are both INFPs. What I especially liked about this book is the section on suggestions for how to relate to the world more effectively. This book is filled with good ideas and promotes compassion.~The Rebecca Review

Eye Opener
I had heard about this typology system and wanted to learn more. This book was a great way to learn about the different personality types, and not to mention figure out where I fit into the puzzle. It sure was spot on! Also helped me to see the reasoning behind why I was prone to like certain things, or feel comfortable in certain situations and uncomfortable in others. Highly recommend this book, very informative, easy to read!

A must read for anyone and everyone
I am new to the personality tests. I sought them out in hopes to understand my 15 year old son better and to help him understand more about himself. I thought the tests would be helpful for him to get a better understanding of what type of career he might be interested in.The book was an easy read and quick to getting us started on the tests. I really enjoyed the authors own personal story on how she came to write the book. She explains how beneficial it really is to learn about all the different personality types. I think everyone would benefit in many ways if they were to read this book. It's quick, easy and a great stepping stone to learning more about ourselves and those around us. Good for parenting, relationships etc.

An extension of Myers-Briggs
I'm not really ready to provide a review of this work, so I'll describe instead the intended application. Business owners occasionally want to examine what aspects of their personality contribute to their work. Myers-Briggs typologies have received considerable interest from the public and the Enneagram is a more contemporary extension of this work. I find surprisingly little research and statistical work on Myers-Briggs and have reservations about the utility of the work beyond a kind of face validity. That said, this text provides a readable overview of the typologies and may be a useful reference for those who wish to assess their entrepreneurial path.

What Type Am I? Discover Who You Really Are
This book keeps it simple. It takes your preferences and combines them which explains your personality type. It provides some guides for the best careers matching your type. If you take the time to truly understand the other preferences, you will understand why miscommunication occurs and how to rectify it. It explains strengths among the personality traits which will allow you to apply it for the best possible outcomes with friends, business associates, and family members.

Informative
Took this to work and had cooworkers take the test. It was very spot on except for one person. This book is insightful and helps you understand how and why others behave. Finding out about yourself helps you tailor how you approach other people. When you take the tests you really have to be honest with yourself. You cannot answer the questions how you think you should be but answer them on how you actually are. I think the one person that didn't answer honestly had their results very skewed.

Needed to order this book for school. It was great! Simple read, and it really helps with understanding yourself and others. This was paired with a book on communication, and they followed each other very well.I would recommend this to anyone trying to better themselves by learning about the people around them.

Fine for the newcomer to MBTI
A nice primer but nothing profound or new. If you're new to MBTI then you'll find it useful - if you're experienced, don't buy it.
