Jaguar E Type

As with most Haynes manuals for older vehicles, this is worth its weight in gold. The EType has pretty spare documentation for things like torque levels on certain nuts, and advice on routine maintenance of admittedly archaic and oddly Jaguarian mechanisms. The exploded diagrams make putting restoring and cleaned parts back together correctly, but can also serve as a parts list for cars that were purchased mid-restoration (like mine).It's black and white, as usual for Haynes manuals, but the level of detail and quality of printing is high. Start with this book before you buy any other EType manuals, as you might find you don't need the others!

the content is ok but the print quality is poor. The printing looks like a bad zerox job, typeface a little on the small side, I do have an up to date prescription on my glasses but it still takes a little extra effort to read. So three stars only for quality of printing.

Bought for a frustrated Granddad who was made to have a child instead of buying one of these in the 1960's...i think it is a good way of compensating him really!

Great content - like all Haynes manuals.The reprint was a little grainy however, and the original was hard backed - this was a soft cover version.Also there were no colour plates in it, the original had colour, but still good however.Great value for money, and fantastic delivery.

On the plus side, all the original material is in the book (which is probably what counts), on the minus side they seem to have deliberately chosen to print it on the poorest quality paper they could find. I don't see this paper standing up to a 'workshop' environment, although I haven't tried the 'oil blot' test (yet).

A bit expensive, considering at your local car boot they use this series of books to stand on but saying that, when you need one, you have to have it.
