Holosun DRS-TH Thermal Fusion Reflex Sight with Digital MRS Reticle, 5 Image Modes, 8X Zoom, and On-Board Video Recording (DRS-TH)

This is the most versatile optic currently available. The thermal system is high enough resolution for east coast range night hunting and there is also the high quality red dot. The overlayed thermal image is useful for transitional lighting environments in a way no other optic duplicates. One of my favorite features is the batteries are both replaceable and rechargeable. There is a door on the side for the batteries and a magnetic charging port on the outside. They run the device for 8+ hours, but when in the field for extended periods you can keep spares instead of a charging solution (and waiting an hour to charge). I wish this concept was on every gun device. Using is fairly complex at first but I got the hang of it in 30 min. The thermal device being off axis of the red dot means it has additional parallax and needs to be calibrated separately from the zero. The window for the red dot can be shut so you get the thermal image only, so for that use case there is a second retical built into the thermal that needs to be zeroed also. The thermal has digital 5x zoom, so if you have a flip up 3x red dot magnifier, you get low resolution 15x. It is very grainy at that zoom level, but it is more useful than what I was expecting, and I could see myself using it occasionally, especially at dusk and dawn. At 3x optical zoom the thermal has plenty of resolution to be useful. I think we will see this optic copied many times in the future.

Mounted this on a .300 Blackout for hog hunting. Tough and durable, the image is very clear and crisp. I debated over the Night Vision or Thermal version and hands down, the Thermal is the best product.

Site is fantastic, night vision works well. Buttons and usage are not easy especially when you don’t use it every day.

Optic zeroing Tourette’s are backwards up is actually down and down is actually up right is actually left and left is actually right. Made me look dumb trying to zero this in at 100 otherwise digital zoom navigating menu is very difficult.

First, this is DEFINITELY not a dedicated thermal device. You’ll need to spend almost double the money for a good one of those. This is a red dot that offers an additional capability. If you go into this with that in mind, you’ll LOVE it. Second, it’s incredible that they’ve been able to squeeze this much performance out of such a small device. I think this kind of hybrid model is definitely going to be adopted by other companies. Third, it’s just great. You won’t be disappointed if you look at this as an expensive red dot with extra capability. I can’t stress that enough! If you’re used to using high-end thermal devices, this will disappoint you. It’s a red dot, with extra features.

This is not a toy. I know some of you guys are really tempted to use this as a gimmick but believe me this is really geared for the professional.

Works well to zero out even in sunshine but remember to dial it way down in intensity for night usage which takes a bit. Versatile and up to Holosun for innovation and quality.
