This spa shock is absolutely excellent — reliable, easy to use, and incredibly effective at keeping hot tub water clean, clear, and fresh. It takes the guesswork out of spa maintenance and delivers consistent results every time. 🔹 Fast-Acting and Powerful Within a short time of adding it, the water brightens up and any cloudiness disappears. It breaks down oils, lotions, and anything else that builds up from regular hot tub use. The difference is noticeable fast — the water looks cleaner and feels better almost immediately. 🔹 Super Easy to Use There’s no complicated measuring or mixing. Just sprinkle it in while the jets are running, and it does the job. It’s perfect for anyone who wants a low-maintenance routine without sacrificing water quality. 🔹 Great for Those Avoiding Chlorine Smell Since it’s non-chlorine, there’s no harsh odor afterward. The hot tub smells neutral and clean, and it’s much easier on skin and eyes compared to strong chlorine shocks. 🔹 Large Size = Great Value The container lasts a long time, even with regular use. It’s a great deal compared to smaller bottles, and ideal for keeping a spa, small pool, or cold plunge consistently maintained. 🔹 Consistent, Dependable Results You don’t have to wonder if it’s working — it always does. Even after heavy use or multiple people in the hot tub, one treatment brings the water right back to perfect. ✅ Pros: Clears cloudy water fast No chlorine smell Easy to use Gentle on skin and eyes Great value for the large size Keeps spa water consistently clean ❌ Cons: None — it performs exactly as promised Overall: A must-have for any hot tub or spa owner. It keeps the water clean and balanced with almost no effort. Truly a 5-star product and one I’ll keep buying again and again.

The HTH Spa 86135 Non Chlorine Shock Oxidizer has become a reliable part of my hot tub maintenance routine, particularly for tackling cloudy water and generally keeping the water fresh and inviting without the harshness of chlorine shock. The 2.25 lbs container offers a decent amount of product for regular use. Key Positives: * Effective at Clearing Cloudy Water: This is where this product truly shines. When my spa water starts to look a bit hazy or dull, a dose of this non-chlorine shock usually clears it up within a few hours, often overnight. It effectively oxidizes organic contaminants that can cause cloudiness. * Non-Chlorine Formula: For those who are sensitive to chlorine or prefer a less aggressive approach to shocking, this is an excellent alternative. It doesn't produce the strong chlorine odor and allows you to get back in the spa much sooner after treatment (typically within 15 minutes once dissolved and circulation is good). * Helps Reduce Chemical Odors: By oxidizing organic matter, this shock helps to eliminate unpleasant chemical smells that can sometimes build up in spa water, contributing to a more enjoyable soaking experience. * Simple to Use: The granular formula dissolves relatively quickly when added directly to the spa water with the jets running. The instructions on the container are clear and easy to follow regarding dosage based on spa size. * Good for Regular Maintenance: I find this product useful for weekly or bi-weekly shocking as part of a balanced spa care regimen. It helps to prevent the buildup of contaminants and maintain water clarity between regular water changes. * Decent Quantity for the Price: The 2.25 lbs container offers a good amount of product that lasts for a reasonable period, depending on the size of your spa and how frequently you shock it. Potential Considerations: * Not a Sanitizer: It's crucial to understand that this is an oxidizer, not a sanitizer. It helps to break down organic waste and clear cloudy water but does not kill bacteria and algae. You will still need to use a sanitizer like chlorine or bromine to maintain proper water chemistry and prevent microbial growth. * May Need to Be Used in Conjunction with Other Products: For optimal water quality, you'll likely need to use this in combination with a sanitizer, pH adjuster, and potentially an algaecide depending on your spa and usage. * Dissolving Time: While it dissolves relatively quickly, it's important to ensure it's fully dissolved before turning off the jets to prevent granules from settling and potentially bleaching the spa surface (though this is less likely than with chlorine shock). * Packaging: The plastic container is functional, but some users might prefer a more robust or resealable container for long-term storage in humid environments. Overall: The HTH Spa 86135 Non Chlorine Shock Oxidizer is a valuable tool for maintaining clear and fresh spa water without the harshness and downtime associated with chlorine shock. It's particularly effective at clearing cloudy water and reducing chemical odors. However, it's essential to remember that it's an oxidizer and needs to be used in conjunction with a sanitizer for proper water balance and hygiene. If you're looking for a non-chlorine option for shocking your spa and keeping the water sparkling, this HTH product is a solid choice.

This is a good non chlorine shock for hot tubs. It dissolves well and gets the job done. I've purchased this multiple times.

Works as advertised, this is my 3rd purchase. Oddly, this one arrived with the cap completely off. There's no protective barrier between the chemical and the outside environment except for that cap, so the stuff went everywhere in the shipping box. And outside the box, for that matter. So I'm guessing there's an Amazon delivery vehicle that needed some serious vacuuming after this delivery.
