How can I get it to play along to whatever music I have on. It always seems to revert to auto and have its own mind even if there is music on or not?

You need to set the light in Sound Mode . the Initial state of the moving head is Auto Mode. you can see the user mannal , change the mode to Sound Mode ,then it will follow the music .Hope this can help you .

It is stuck on slave mode how do I get it off whatever buttons I press it stays on it ?

Here’s the Fix 1. with menu button choose the SLND (very important) 2. with enter button confirm 3. with up or down choose the mode, here there is three mode, NAST, SLAV and SOUN---here, must with up or down button choose the mode, 4 choose SOUN, and with enter button confirm

Do i need a dmx console to get max effect from this product

you could use one, but for just at home, I placed a speaker not too far from it, and use sound activation. It works good and you can control the speed, with how much volume you use. Search the web, there are lots of videos.

Does this need to be wall mounted? I’m wanting to use in a gazebo. Thanks

You don’t have to put it on the wall it will fit on the top of the gazebo with some zip ties and it’s super light as well
