Good unit just not what I was looking for
Great value for money you won’t find a thermal/digital NV for less than this but the name “FUSION” led me to believe it may be a thermal-digitalNV overlay. It is not. It comes with a good bit of go pro style mounting options. Thermal quality is good for closer distance max range to reliably identify animals is about 70yds if your looking at this for hunting. For indoor close range it’s 100% fine for target identification. The digital night vision relies heavily on the IR illumination which is expected of non analog systems. Once the IR is on the image is crystal clear to a surprising amount. Build quality is bulky and I feel it lacks durability. Diopter and camera lenses will screw off if you turn them too much, and there is no diopter adjustment for thermal only IR. Buttons press and function well they just feel small and cheap. Definitely not a weather proof unit. But for use in airsoft or just looking for animals at dark it may work. I opted to return this unit in favor of a dedicated Digital night vision unit in a similar price range and will revisit the “thermal night vision fusion” tech in a few years when it catches up.

Wish I could give less than a one.
Junk junk junk. Don't waste your money. I bought it. Parts would not bolt together the holes where wrong size. There is NO Customer Service Number for Help. The Customer service you get from email is rude like they don't have time for you. The Thermal is a bigger joke. It don't work worth a crap either. This company like everyone else. They talk a Great game. Then sell junk to us. Darn darn shame.

It does work but the user experience isn't great
Update: Sept 5, 2024 I continued to mess with the unit because I was baffled that the image through the eyepiece was so blurry. I finally figured out that the eyepiece housing is threaded and acts as a diopter and therefore can be screwed out to adjust focus. Although this was a big revelation, I had to screw the eyepiece all the way out until its very last threads before the focus became clear (see photo). I even adjusted the night vision lens on the opposite side of the unit in tandem with the eyepiece and still, the eyepiece needs to be screwed nearly all the way out. Of course, when the eyepiece is on its last threads, it's very loose and rattles. It does help the clarity of the image tremendously so this was a big help. I'm not sure this revelation bumps the unit up to 4 stars, though. For this price point, there is still much to be desired. Original Review: Sept 3, 2024 For transparency, this is my first, ever, night/thermal vision product. I don't have experience in higher-end tubes, I've never handled them and in fact, I've never seen any in person. With that said, I do have a fair amount of experience with different types of gadgets and can give feedback on a few aspects of this unit. Fit & Finish: Fit and finish are just OK. The unit itself is made of an aluminum body and feels and looks pretty good. However, there are a few other things that jump out that are far from good and don't really have a place in this tactical world. The first and probably the biggest thing is the row of buttons that control the unit's function. They are incredibly small and belong on a toy, not a $500 night vision unit. The holes in the body to accommodate the buttons are not sealed and will not prevent dust and moisture from getting into the unit. To be fair, the seller/manufacturer does not claim any sort of waterproof rating but a night vision/thermal unit should probably be able to stand up to some inclement weather. Furthermore, trying to control the unit while wearing gloves is nearly impossible because the buttons are so tiny and close together. The second fit and finish item that jumps out is the Phillips-style, counter-sunk screws that are not properly counter-sunk into the body. I know this is a bit picky but it shows the overall quality of the product. The last item is the very cheap lens cap for the night vision camera/lens - by far the cheapest lens cap I've ever come across. It'll get crushed before it gets lost. Function: This is a bit harder for me to give feedback on because I've never handled true night vision/thermal tubes. However, my immediate reaction when trying to view anything through the main eyepiece is that it sucks. The main eyepiece has a plastic lens to aid your eye in viewing the little digital screen inside the unit. That plastic lens is horrible and it ruins what is an otherwise good digital screen and sharp image. To try and understand what was going on, I removed the rubber boot eyepiece along with the plastic lens. The digital screen in the unit shows a relatively sharp and clear image. It's the plastic lens eyepiece that kills it. In night vision mode, everything looks blurry, no matter how much you try to adjust the focus ring on the other end of the unit, and over time it hurts the eye. In thermal mode, you get what you get because there is no way to focus. Again, the plastic eyepiece ruins the clarity of the digital screen and the overall experience. With all of that said, night vision and thermal vision do work. I do not have extensive testing with this unit and have not put it through its paces beyond walking around the backyard and seeing what animals I can spot. I'm happy to report that heat signatures do show. If you are like me, there's a chance you cringed when you saw the mount for this unit. I had hoped that I could get it to work with my bump helmet and NVG mount but as of now, I have not been able to. I have to use the GoPro-style plastic links to suspend it off of my helmet. It looks dumb, isn't super secure, and does not provide a ton of confidence. Eventually, I'll find the correct bracket to attach to the NVG mount. Overall, I have to give this 3.5 stars. It does work and although I can't compare its ability against other units, it is after all a $500 NV/thermal unit. I imagine the bulk of the cost associated with this unit is the tech and not the unit itself. I can't imagine it will stand up to the rigors of any sort of tactical maneuver and at best can be used as a handheld device when tracking or hunting. If my opinions change after further use, I'll be sure to come back and update this review.
