Follow manufacturer instructions
Nexstar works great & instantly. However, it is a toxic substance that needs to be handled with care according to the manufacturer's directions. Because many of us r rescuing & fostering animals, the following advice is based on past experience. If the cat is fighting the application, (carpet vs hardwood/tile/linoleum flooring), wash off drops that r reachable by licking to prevent ingestion. For multi cat households & litters, separate each cat when applying for a period of time. This is because they may lick the product off of each other, particularly kittens, resulting in toxic ingestion & necessary emergency veterinary treatment.

Best over the counter product
Ticks are so bad this year but this is helping to keep the numbers down. Absolutely no fleas though which amazing.

DOES NOT WORK FLEAS WORSE THAN EVER
I used PetArmor for our two kittens' first year of life with no issues, but recently switched to NexStar because it advertised added repellency and better protection. What an ENORMOUS mistake. Our cats were scratching more and more but we never saw any signs of actual fleas. However, within two weeks of applying it for the second month, I started finding tons of black, spiral-shaped flea dirt all over my cat’s bedding. I even found a live flea on her, despite being treated right on schedule, just TWO WEEKS AGO. For comparison, our outdoor-only cat (who WAS getting Nexstar as well but accidentally got left over PetArmor this past month) recently went from an immense infestation to now having no visible fleas or flea dirt at all. That pretty much confirmed for me that NexStar just isn’t doing its job, and PetArmor is. Side note: One of our cats also ripped out all of her fur where I had placed this the first time around. I should've taken that as a sign. I've already switched back to PetArmor.

Great value and works
this is such a great bargain. I bought this to use on my cat who lives mostly outdoors. Easy to apply and I did not see one flea or tick on him all summer. Will buy again.

Works for my indoor cats
This seems to work pretty well for both of my indoor cats. However it does really good for 3 weeks but you can tell when it begins to wear off.

Worked great and then fleas got immune
So I think the fleas around us are now immune to this. It worked for a long time. Then suddenly stopped and I’ve spent the last week getting prescription strength stuff for all my pets because we’re all getting eaten alive. Too bad, this stuff was great while it worked. Not sure if it works on ticks still, but I would assume so. We never had a problem with any ticks!

Doesn’t leave a burn on neck
Works great. Doesn’t leave a burn mark on my cats neck. That is a big plus.

Fleas? What fleas?
Works totally within 24 hrs! I have an outside/ cat. She was full of fleas until treated. Now I let her in.
