These Silicone Wound Contact Layers are amazing for open or sensitive wounds as they prevent any dressings from sticking and causing damage upon removal, very gentle on the surrounding skin too as it doesn't irritate the skin even though it sticks to it.

Advised to use this for fragile skin tears instead of melolin dressing after & gentle on the skin as placed over the tears then absorbent dressing on top of it, can be left on for several days too

I had no exudate and needed to use hydro gel/vaseline with this contact layer. I bought this thinking it was going to be 100% non-stick but it wasnt. My fragile new skin grew into the dressing andI found it impossible to remove the dressing without removing my new skin as well. After finding it stuck the first use, I used a hydro gel (or may have been Vaseline) with it to prevent adhesion and warmed up the dressing before removal This was successful and left my new skin intact on the wound where I wanted it to be. It is transparent when applied so you can see what's going on as long as you have put a transparent secondary dressing on it. I used tagamet film. A secondary dressing is necessary because the silicone contact layer only has light adhesion properties. Apparently you need 2cm of secondary dressing adhering around the wound to seal it prevent moisture loss.

Ho trovato che questi cerotti bucherellati sono fantastici. Riesco ad inserire piccole medicazioni dove è necessario e il cerotto mi tiene tutto a posto, lascia respirare la pelle e la guarigione è più veloce.
