A great starter for homemade yogurt
This is a great product for home made yogurt. I have been using it for about 2 years now. I use it as a starter and then use about 4 tbs of my previous batch to make my next one. However, when we vacation for an extended period, I need to use new starter and this works perfectly. My yogurt is thick and tasty and I believe one reason is the quality of this starter.

Probiotics for Intestinal Health.
Two months ago, I embarked on my homemade yogurt journey. Now, I'm ready to explore a new culture, and the Yogourmet brand value packet caught my eye. With 16 packets of 3 grams each, this starter is effective and a steal at $17.99. The main reason I was convinced to buy it was because I read the ingredients used in the description, such as active bacterial cultures (Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus acidophilus) and maltodextrin. I wanted to learn more about them, and this is what I found: Active bacterial cultures: These are probiotics, beneficial bacteria that promote intestinal health and overall well-being. 1. Lactobacillus bulgaricus • Commonly used in yogurt and fermented dairy products. • Helps break down lactose (helpful for lactose intolerance). • Contributes to intestinal balance and may strengthen immune function. 2. Streptococcus thermophilus • Also found in yogurt cultures. • Produces lactic acid, which improves digestion and controls harmful bacteria. • Helps relieve irritable bowel symptoms and may promote nutrient absorption. 3. Lactobacillus acidophilus • Found in yogurt, kefir, and supplements. • One of the most studied probiotics. • Contributes to the balance of intestinal flora, helps lower cholesterol, strengthens the immune system, and may prevent yeast infections. Maltodextrin: • White powder from starch (usually corn, rice, or potato). • Frequently used as a filler or stabilizer in probiotic supplements and foods. Uses: • Helps preserve probiotic bacteria in capsules or powders. • Adds texture and bulk to processed foods. • It is sometimes used as a quick energy source in sports drinks. After researching the cultures, I realized they benefit gut health, especially when taken regularly. The Yogourmet box, with its user-friendly design, contains 16 individually sealed pouches. This thoughtful packaging ensures the cultures' safety and freshness, making yogurt at home even more convenient. Thanks to the Yogourmet starter's efficiency, my first batch was a resounding success, and I savored every spoonful of the delicious, creamy, tangy yogurt. In conclusion, the Yogourmet starter has not only met but exceeded my expectations. It has empowered me to create my homemade yogurt, a thick, creamy, and nutrient-rich delight. With its affordable price tag, this product is a healthy and delicious option for yogurt enthusiasts, offering the added reassurance of gut health benefits. I would give it five stars without hesitation.

This product did not work at all.
This product did not work at all. The culture appears to be inactive or dead. I carefully followed the instructions exactly as provided, but it never produced yogurt. Unfortunately, it was a complete waste of time and money. I wish I could return it and receive a refund, as the product did not perform as advertised.

*update* pretty good
*update* second time around it made great yogurt. Firstly i made sure the temperature wasnt too hot when adding the culture so that i didnt kill any bacteria. Once it was ready i put the lid on, then i placed a heating pad on medium heat and laid it in the microwave, setting the still warm yogurt mixture on top. Then with a little persuasion i convinced yhe microwave door to close and left it overnight. 8 hours later... yogurt! It is sloghtly more tangy than storebought yogurt and my friend who grew up eating homemade said it tastes perfect. I ate it with granola and honey, also i used it to marinade chicken for kebab. Next im wanting to use it for smoothies. Happy eating 😋 *old review* In fairness it did make yogurt but it took 30 hours. I dont hav a yogurt maker or a crock pot and i cant set my oven low enough for this item so the temperature variance was extreme. I will try again as i have some ideas to make the temps more consistent and if i yield better results i will update.

Makes tasty yogurt!
This was the first time I've made yogurt. I used augason farms milk powder (so I could see if this could be a shelf stable possibility to make yogurt). Even using this fat free milk it made very tasty yogurt. The directions are simple to follow and the process is easy. I put the mixed product in the oven (not turned on) with the light on so it had somewhere warm for the cultures to work. It did take a few hours longer for it to set to my liking, but I am guessing because of the non fat milk. After it's time in the oven I strained it through a sieve to remove the excess whey and set in the fridge over night. It does thicken up a bit more when cooled. The flavor was smooth and slightly tart. Much fresher and milder tasting than store bought. I found it very pleasant to eat as is, but was also good with the raw honey and raspberry jam samples I tried. I suspect I could strain longer to make a thicker (almost greek yogurt) texture if desired. The remaining whey will separate a bit but is simple to just stir back in before eating. Not a real problem as the store bought kind also needs stirring. Happy to have a viable solution to shelf stable yogurt (before making). Have ordered on subscription so I may have on hand for future cravings. Although I haven't tried yet, I will be trying to use some the yogurt I made as a starter for a future batch.

Great flavor, forgiving culture
Use all the time to make Greek yogurt, works perfectly, hope you know about scorching milk, relaxing the lacto protein really helps. So does adding some nonfat dry milk. Produces nice firm yogurt. Very forgiving if you culture too long, I forget sometimes, never bitter or sour.
