My 6 year old twins and 9 year old really enjoyed these alphabet and reading set. They liked trying to spell different words with the letters. These letters allowed learning to be fun.

This is great for children to learn. It is very immersive and fun for the kids.

This set comes with two sided, dry erase cards (you DO need your own markers and erasers). You can read the word on it's own and in a sentence. Then you can write the word with a dry erase marker and use wooden letters to write it out. It can be a little overwhelming to choose from all the letters of the alphabet, so it seemed better to start with just a few extra letters if they are just learning to spell. There are two levels to the cards, 3 and 4 letter words. It can be a tad hard for kids to fit the words in the slot to write if they have a tendency to write larger. A couple cards had a weird, plastic film that wasn't cut all the way even with the edge. Overall, it's a fun, interactive tool for learning.

I ordered this as my son has expressed wanting to learn how to read. He isn't in school yet so I thought that this would be a perfect tool to get started and I was right. Its hands on and has many aspects which is very engaging for him and he loves to practice spelling and writing out the words. He doesn't even realize that he's 'learning'.

This helps so much with the 5 year old and learning how to spell, sound letters out and she loves it.

Luckily I have tons of dry erase markers on hand because they are not included with this. Your kids can easily write the word& it erases very easily. I love how hands on it is, the kids have a fun time searching for the correct letter they need. A bag is included to store all the material so it doesn’t get lost. We absolutely love this item.
