We are so impressed with this toddler play food set! Every piece is bright, colorful, and made with high-quality, durable materials that easily withstand the rough-and-tumble play of a busy toddler. Our little one absolutely loves pretending to cook, serve, and even "eat" the food—it's been amazing for encouraging creativity and role-play. What really stood out was the variety included in the set—fruits, veggies, snacks, and even little utensils. It's not just fun, it's educational too! When my son (who is now at university) was little, just about his favourite selections of toys to play with were his pretend-foods and cooking implements. We had hours of fun creating make-believe recipes, serving (cuddly toy) customers in cafés and buying and selling items as shop keepers and customers. He’d have loved this set, the fruits and foods are very lovingly sculptured to be accurate in appearance and brightly coloured. The eggs in the egg tray are made in two pieces with a zigzag join so you can ‘crack them like a real egg’. A super little detail. The foods are made from plastic but it may have some silicone in there because they are weightier and more substantial than cheaper plastic foods and has slight softness to the surface which gives them a pleasant tactile experience. As well as a selection of fruits and veg, bread, cheese and eggs, you get a ‘wooden’ basket, a crate and a chopping board. Another thoughtful touch is that the box is made of very sturdy cardboard and when you open it, the inside of the box and lid are illustrated in bright colours to give you a market stalk to add to your role play. This will make a lovely gift for younger children; bright, colourful and giving his of creative, fun play.
