To start off with, the counter balance just beeps whenever its in need of assistance getting the weight sorted out, then it turns off - which can make it seem as if the product lost battery when it didn't. As well, the "AI" tracking module isn't very efficient, using quite a lot of battery when in my opinion it would've been better off an individually powered unit with a USB C for charging, or charging built into the carrying case for a bit more money. As well both this, the charging speed and the supported weight are all better on the Hohem competition - but I picked this unit for its better reliability, even if only by a margin. It's taken a lot to get used to, and improvements such as the aforementioned or increasing motor speed would help tremendously with a future unit, but I'd say it was a good investment - at least while it's still functioning. Fingers crossed mine doesn't end up like some other reviews have indicated for the price.

I was having issues with the original gimbal I received, but I contacted the seller, and they replaced the gimbal with a new one which appears to be working correctly. This gimbal is really cool and pairs easily with my Android phone. Once you figure out how to use it, it really helps level up your video shots.

Overall, the unit works well. Making a trial run using my phone only without software, worked ok. After installing the Zy Cami software on my phone, I tried to pair it with the gimbal. It will not pair. I tried 2 other phones with the same results. All 3 phones were Samsung and listed as compatible on the website. I installed the StaCam software instead and and it was able to pair. Making the same test run with the StaCam as I did before, the gimbal seems to be more stable with acceptable results.Aside from the software issue (Zy Cami software has the most features to take full advantage of the gimba's power.) the only other major issue is the Zhiyun Prime membership that was supposed to be included in my purchase. According to my browser, the website doesn't seem to exist. I tried to access it on my phone's browser and it was not found. I tried on my desktop and got the same results. This maybe why the Zy Cami software doesn't work.If you're looking for a gimbal, you should probably go with the 5S AI Standard and save the $80.
