3M Rodent Repellent Coating Spray, Prevents Rat Bites in Engine Parts and Wires, Highly Effective, Leak-Free, Easy-to-Spray, Bitter Taste, No Kill-only Repels (80g, Pack of 1)

We have a big rat problem in our apartment complex and lot of cars have been affected. Just last week rats sneaked in my seltos hood and chewed off the ac wire. On suggestion of my local car workshop owner, I got this for my seltos. It seems to be effective, but it is too early to confirm the longevity of this. Some pointers: Get the engine bay area washed before applying this. This will leave a clear shiny layer on the areas where it is sprayed. Spray when the engine is cold. Use a 2nd layer spray after 1 or 2 days. Use 2 masks and sunglasses / eyeglasses when you spray this. The smell is very strong when you spray it and if there is wind, it can enter eyes and burn. Make sure you put some newspaper or cloth over the windscreen glass, as when I was spraying with bonnet open, some part of spray went to the glass and it formed small droplets which are rough to feel and very difficult to take off. I had a hard time to remove from front glass. Car shampoo didn't help. Finally I applied a little acetone on it and it seemed to work, but the acetone cleaning can damage glass or leave residue. So I applied them in small batches and asked my cleaner to wipe it off with colin glass spray immediately.

Spray is good, but quantity is less. It can only be used once. Had a smell when applying, use mask while using. Also cover the windshield by newspaper while applying.

The product works well for rodent protection, especially for car wiring and corners where rats usually enter. Application is simple and the coating dries nicely. The only downside is the smell is quite strong for the first few hours, so apply it in an open area and let it dry properly. Overall, it’s a good preventive solution and I’d recommend it.

This is a pathetic product, don't go for it,I have used it a couple of times just to understand it doesn't firk for 1 day as well... My money has gone waste, PLEASE DO NOT GO FOR THIS PRODUCT.

I have a bandicoot menace in my street as the shoulder drains are open at few places and due to dumping of construction debris. Rats find car engine bay a safe place to hide from cats and dogs and also to keep themselves warm. Bandicoot enters the engine bay regularly and luckily so far hasn't eaten any of the cables. As a preventive measure I bought this product to keep rats away from eating cables as tobacco leaves, chilli powder, garlic, naphthalene balls, etc. didn't yield any good results. After using this product in the mudguards and engine bay, I can still find rats entering the engine bay and biting the sound and heat pad insulation on the bonnet inner surface. I had sprayed this solution on this pad too. Now the only solution I have is to keep bonnet open always until I fix PVC sheets for the gates.
