save yourself
Cute pillow- great colors and design but dear god- this pillow is NOT easy to make. The traditional sharp needle is NOT easy to thread with the yarn provided (thread splits). The directions are incorrect: they do not tell you how to stitch the eyes to the main pillow, and the feet as shown are on the wrong side. And last but not least- knotting the edges will make you question your entire life: why would you spend money on something you have to spend hours of labor on? Your child will demand you finish HER pillow that night, and in tears you will comply and swear never to buy a sewing kit again. Double knotting the fringe where the strings are shorter is near impossible and leaves large gaps in some sections. I ended up hand stitching with my own thread far too many sections.Unless your child is a professional seamstress and can handle a real needle, I would pass and just spend any money necessary on an already completed animal pillow. Save yourself. Or buy fabric glue and go nuts.

Fun little project
We bought this for our 5 year old for Christmas and I think it was a great beginners sewing project for her. My only complaint is the goal thread used is terrible. Threading it is a beast because it just wants to unravel. We ended up just using the pink thread on everything. Which was fine because pink is her favorite color. Just something to be aware of when buying :) but it was a great activity for her and she was so proud when she finished it.

Cute outcome! Took more work/time than anticipated...
The final product is very cute, but we greatly underestimated the time this project would take and the amount of work. Both my 6 year old and 11 year old got one. I most definitely had to assist the 6 year old. The 11 year old hasn’t attempted hers yet.

Great for starter
My 7 year and I had a great time working on this together. It was a great example to start teaching her how to sew. Loved the predrilled holes as guides for her as a beginner.

Takes forever and doesn't turn out great.
My child gave up on this and I ended up making it and it took me about 4 hours to do.

Not for a 5 year old
I bought this for my 5 year old. It’s definitely for an older child. I had a really hard time threading the needles because the embroidery floss kept separating but that happens with metallics.

poor directions
cute when done, had to assemble by the picture on the box. The instructions were worthless, BEYOND worthless !

Really cute.
My daughter recieved this for her 7th birthday, and she was excited about it.We worked on it together and it went pretty smoothly. Not too difficult, may need help following the instructions as they arent super informative.

Giftable
This was fun for an eight year old I gifted it too, not too complicated but still interesting enough to keep her motivated to finish it. I would advise hand washing most likely if it gets dirty
