Excellent product
Just had a new travertine shower installed that included granite sills and seat. Unfortunately, the first time I stepped into the wet shower, my foot slipped and it scared the daylights out of me. I found this product and had it the next day. It was easy to use; in fact, the hardest part was "gearing up" with gloves, long pants, long sleeves and eye protection. The actual application was easy. I did have trouble gauging how long to leave it on using the recommended rubber shoe test but ended up letting it set the full 15 minutes before rinsing with the baking soda and water solution. It worked beautifully and I am now able to shower with no fear of falling. It feels fine underfoot - no sticky feeling - and did not change the surface look of the tile at all. Kudos also to the seller for emailing use instructions right after the package was delivered. Made it real easy to know what to do without trying to read the small print on the bottle. Highly recommend this product.

something told me don't give up so easily. So I got on the Web and watched ...
When we got the “Stone Grip” product and read the instructions, I thought "this is way too complicated, I'm going to send it back". But, something told me don't give up so easily. So I got on the Web and watched a few videos, coming to realize it wasn't that hard, I just needed to make good safety preparation since it is an acid-based product. For beginners, I thoroughly scrubbed the shower floor, rinsed, and dried it, avoiding cleaning products such as bleach (instructions say to use a neutral or weakly acid-based product for this step; bleach may react with the cleaner). The instructions could have been more specific here, as I wonder if most people really know whether bleach and similar products are "acid-based" or not. Then, once I donned a long sleeve shirt and work jeans, wrapped trash bags around my shoes, (couldn’t find my rubber boots!) put on my rubber gloves and a cheap Lowe's breathing mask, I was ready to go. The actual application took only 10 minutes; after which I repeatedly applied the easy-to-make neutralizer of water and baking soda (have it ready before beginning the treatment...very important; this is outlined in the instructions). RESULTS! It made our dangerously slippery shower floor MUCH safer and we're delighted. Note: the instructions on the bottle say to use the "Stone Grip applicator", but any long-handled nylon brush will do. DON’T get too close to the work surface while the product is in use, which is why a long-handled brush works well. So be safe, pay attention and this stuff works great...at least in our "slippery shower scenario". Overall, the instructions are the weak leak in the chain; otherwise the actual product is good choice, and the effect should last for several years.

Gives secure footing in the shower
Hooray! I can't say enough about this product so far. We were skeptical at first but after following the directions my daughter and I did a "slip" test and our feet didn't budge! My husband used the shower and said his feet felt very secure. He didn't do the "slip" test because he's prone to falling and I'm not sure about having soapy water on the floor but he felt secure. We're so, so happy with this product so far!

It Works, and So Will You
As everyone says, "It works!" But it was a lot of work for me. My kitchen floor has large tiles that are shiny and I nearly broke my hip slipping on even a small drop of water. This product got great reviews so I thought I'd try it and share what I learned. It is expensive--know that one quart bottle covers only 50-75 square feet--barely enough to cover my kitchen. You will need a mop and bucket to wash your floor, two 1 gallon sprayers (one to apply the product and another to apply the neutralizer--water and baking soda), and a wet vac. It helps to have rubber boots, safety goggles, and hand gloves. I was very nervous about ruining my kitchen floor but it came out looking OK--the surface is no longer shiny--it is dull, which is why it has such a great grip. I tested a small area and got nervous when it still seemed slick at 14 1/2 minutes (they said it would take 5-15 minutes). I went with that length of time and it did the trick. You have to spray as evenly as possible quickly, and I can see some areas are duller than others from a bit of unevenness, but I saw no way to spread it out because a mop would have absorbed the product. I sprayed the neutralizer and then wet vacuumed it up, then sprayed another layer of neutralizer and vacuumed again, then I wet mopped with just water. Between the shopping for products and getting everything set up (I masked my stainless appliances at their base near the floor but probably didn't need to), I spent the entire afternoon on it. I probably sweated the details more than needed, but this is a very visible floor! I called Slip Doctor with some questions and they were very responsive, 888-436-5404. I would recommend this product but hope I never have to do this again.

This stuff actually works!
I was skeptical, but this stuff really, honestly works. I'm seriously impressed by how well it works. My tub has been trying to kill me for weeks, but one careful application of this stuff and no more slipping! A couple disclaimers - you need to follow the instructions! You need to do a little test patch somewhere to determine how long to leave this on the surface - there's no one-size-fits-all application. It will VARY from surface to surface. Instructions are right on the bottle, and are easy to follow - but it's an extra step you need to be prepared to do, or you will NOT be satisfied with the results. If you have hard water, the mineral deposits will undo the effects this has on a surface, rendering it slippery again after a while. You can re-treat the surface to get the traction back, but don't think it's a failing of this product - it's the hard water. If your water is softened, one treatment of this will last basically forever. It doesn't stink, or fume - I sat right next to the tub covered in this stuff and was fine. I used a little foam paintbrush to spread it around and reapply to keep the surface wet, basic latex gloves to protect my hands, and a disposable plastic cup to dip the paintbrush in. That's it! Nothing complicated, and it really, honestly worked. Didn't change the way the tub looks, either!

Worked eventually
I purchased this product to treat an extremely slippery (dangerously so) travertine shower in a condo I recently purchased. Even though it was quite expensive, I was desperate to do something quickly to prevent injury while showering. I was literally scared to take a shower for fear of falling. I diligently followed directions and completed the application as described. After the first go, there was no significant change. So I did the whole process again. After this time, there was some improvement, so I decided to give it a try the next time I showered. The following day in the shower, I could still feel enough slippage to make me uneasy. At this point, I just figured it was not going to work. However, I just had to do something or I would never feel safe to take a shower in my new place. Well, the next day, I completed the process for the THIRD time, and it finally worked, but by this time, I had used the entire bottle of Slip Doctor. My shower is just average size, 3x5, and I had hoped to used the product 3 times. Instead I had to use all of it to get a satisfactory result. Now I am only wondering just how long it will last.

Still slick AF!
Used this on our exposed pool tile. Followed the directions to a T. Unfortunately, it was as if we hadn’t applied anything at all. Still super slick when wet. We opted to just use the anti slip tape around the top. As our pup likes to walk around along the pool. It’s unfortunate since we ordered 2 quarts and wasted our money. Cant return now. But it’s what it is.
