I am very new to baking sourdough bread ( this is loaf #10), and up until this point I have been using parchment paper in the dutch over - but not any longer thanks to this silicone bread/dough sling. It worked perfect and was so much easier and secure to handle. In the past, I have been worried about the parchment breaking when carrying out the bread but this worked perfectly. Very very pleased; this is a game changer. I am not sure why I ordered two of them, but no harm in having one in reserve I guess. Great product and the perfect size!

I bought this product to facilitate an easier way of getting sourdough loaves in and out of a Dutch oven. I was a bit concerned that the 'wings' would not allow the Dutch oven lid to seal properly, but after 4-5 loaves of bread, that is not an issue. Everything seals properly allowing steam to form in the Dutch oven and the bread to cook properly. The wings do allow the bread to be removed easily with no burnt fingers as with parchment paper. The silicon surface stays neutral and doesn't burn, and I think it is helping the bottom of the bread staying softer instead of the normal crust formed by parchment paper, which makes cutting slices easier. The price point, delivery timing and functionality make this a recommended product for bread bakers.

This is a great idea however as the sheet is so thick it leaves a small gap when you put the lid on the Dutch oven. So the base of my bread seemed very pale and the bread was flat! I have not used it since! I will give it another go and see if altering its position and/or placing it in the Dutch oven makes a difference? If someone else has a foolproof way of using this then do let me know.

A total game changer. I can now remove a loaf of bread from the hot oven without burning my hands or dropping the bread. Highly recommended
