A very good weight gainer for increasing calorie intake and muscle mass.
I bought MuscleTech 100% Mass Gainer to supplement my diet, and it has worked quite well for me. The Chocolate Fudge Brownie flavor is pleasant; it's not too sweet and is easy to drink, especially when prepared in a shake. It dissolves well and isn't as thick as other gainers I've tried. I mainly use it after workouts or between meals when I need to increase my calorie intake. The protein and carbohydrate content is high, so it's useful for building muscle mass. I like that it already includes creatine, which is a bonus and saves me from having to buy separate supplements. It's a good option if you train consistently and are looking for additional nutritional support alongside a proper diet.

Apparently one of the ONLY protein powders that's not loaded with toxic lead
I, too, read the CR review of protein powders and shakes and their lead levels. I immediately threw out my old favorite brand, which turned out to have the highest levels of lead tested, and I immediately switched to this MuscleTech brand. The quality is good. The ingredients are good. The taste is good. The price is OK. And it has the lowest levels of lead tested. Thanks MuscleTech! So, uh, does anybody know how to reverse lead poisoning before I go insane?

Most Recommended by Consumer Reports for No Lead
Not crazy about the taste and gets clumpy (which is why they recommend a blender) but it is one of the only protein powders recommended by Consumer Reports that doesn't contain traces of lead, so that's good enough for me. Sugar content seems a bit high.

Best High Protein AND High Calorie Shake I've Had Yet!
I like to workout, but the problem I face often isn't enough protein and calorie recovery post-workout. This makes me sluggish, moody, and I work a busy, on-your-feet job, so recovery is critical to feel better faster after microtearing. A lot of shakes on the market are only high protein, not protein and calories. Often foods aren't nutritious enough or have (good) high calories while still being budget-friendly. I don't always need to drink a full serving, but even when I do, one gallon of this lasts a while for one person. With overnight shipping, it's even better, so I don't have to delay my workouts waiting for this. You can scale back the calories, if you want, by putting less cups in per shake (the advertised serving is 6 full cups.) The only downside is even with shaking and stirring, it stays emulsified, unless you wait a day. Doable, nonetheless. Both flavors are great, but I feel chocolate is better. It doesn't suppress appetite - it fills it, so I often snack and use this as a meal replacement when I don't want to cook or have time to.

Dismal amount of protein in this cake mix powder
Short answer: For protein powder, buy this instead: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D4WTDZZR?th=1 Long answer: This is not a protein powder — it’s dessert mix with an identity crisis. MuscleTech advertises “60g of protein per serving”… which sounds great until you realize a serving is a whopping 357 grams of powder. That means only about 12% of it is actually protein. The rest is carbs — loads and loads of carbs. Let’s compare that to a normal whey like Premier Protein (amazon link above): Premier = 30g protein in 39g of powder → ~77% protein by weight MuscleTech = 44g protein in 357g of powder → ~12% protein by weight In practical terms, to get the same protein as one scoop of Premier, you’d need SIX times the amount of MuscleTech — along with nearly 1,000 bonus calories. If your goal is to gain weight at any cost, this works. If your goal is lean muscle or macronutrient efficiency, this performs more like instant pancake batter than a protein supplement. Great mass gainer? Sure. Great protein source? Not even close. This product is for a few people only: 1. You have the metabolism of a hummingbird 2. You want to drink cake mix for breakfast 3. You are in the NFL or burning 3,000 calories a day (listen up Seal Team 6) Otherwise, stick to a real protein powder. There is a reason they don't show the ingredients label in the listing.

YOU NEED A BLENDER. IT TASTE AWFUL.
Was excited to try this because I struggle with appetite and eating even 1900 calories a day. So I began looking into what my options are for what’s out there and started researching what’s best. Which landed me here, and I ordered it. Just got it actually, so I’m writing this as im about to drink it. Let me just start off by saying - you need a blender to even make this mix well. I unfortunately did not know that and all I have are shaker bottles and a traditional whisk. After finding out shaker bottles don’t even stand a chance I put it all in a big glass jar I’ve held onto and whisked by hand for a solid 40 minutes 😭😭 finally I am ready to drink it. And when I did, I gagged 😭 if you ever wondered what nut tastes like, this is it. (I got the vanilla flavor) and mind you, the 16 oz to 6 SCOOPS of the powder is an insane ratio. It was beyond thick I couldn’t even drink it from a straw. So I add more water and more water to get this to somewhat be more of a drinkable drink than a thick pudding consistency. After adding water and ice in probably at a good 32 oz I have to freaking drink and it’s beyond daunting way more then forcing myself to eat, let alone finish this god awful “drink” The taste is god awful with a terrible after taste. I immediately took this off my subscribe and save and will be looking for something else that’s more efficient with better taste. But I have to see this through. I don’t really want to go out and buy a blender but I don’t really see another choice- hand mixing for over half an hour? Forget about it. I will update later about if it works or not. I would assume so, just not sure that after adding more water if it changes the numbers. (Shaker bottle in photo is for reference)
