I love this trash can, it does what the description says it will do. I bought it for my bathroom and going to buy one for my kicthen!

I’ve been really impressed with this trash can. The design is minimalistic and sleek, so it looks good in any bathroom. The motion sensor reacts quickly to hand movement, making it super convenient. The self-sealing feature works flawlessly, and I love that once the bag seals, a fresh one is automatically vacuumed in and spread perfectly inside; such a smart touch. The battery life also lasts a long time, so I don’t have to worry about constantly recharging it via usb. Overall, a stylish and highly functional upgrade from a regular trash can.

Refill trash bags are so easy and convenient. I've been using these TOWNEW T1/T Air Lite Official Refill Rings for Smart Kitchen Trash Can for about a year now. I am still their biggest fan!! Although small, they do hold a significant amount and you can use them to the top or decide to not use them to a filled up point in order to get rid of something more smelly. My only suggestion for improvement is they need to be a few plys stronger, and it would be nice if they could cut off and provide a strap to hold them as you pull them from the melted edge. If the sack if full or heavy, that is the point at which your finger is most liable to push through the thin bag. This system, however, is absolutely fabulous!! If you are ever in doubt about giving one as a present to an elderly person, give, give, give. Yes, it is aggravating to have the lid pop up if any object, like a skirt hem, happens to go over the infrared sensor. Mine has given me a few other glitches where I thought it had broken or stopped working. Giving it a minute to rest, unplugging it, plugging it back in, and once fiddling with the button, and all reset for continued use. It has withstood lots of use in one year, including the amazed in sections by the grands and the greats. Their entertainment was a joy!! If you can afford this trash can and its refills, you can't go wrong.

I have the medium size version of this product it’s the oval trashcan.. I keep in my bathroom and for small tissues or small items like Q-tips type things or cotton balls or things like that it works very very good when you have to stuff let’s say some sort of box into it the trashcan it will have some difficulty. It ultimately gets worked out… you waste a little bit of the trash bags because of it. But all in all it’s a pretty neat.. I would say that maybe it will become a standard item in hotel rooms and rental properties as the technology progresses.

Terrible purchase 1st of the instructions are only in Chinese. The bag comes in a cardboard ring that is not clear that the cardboard is not just packaging and since the instructions are in Chinese you can’t read how to use properly so thinking I am unwrapping the package to get to the bag was actually the compartment that holds the bag. Waste of money as you have to obviously replace the cardboard rings as they are what hold the garbage bags and you can only buy these specific bags due to the weird awkward shape of the can and to make work properly. The replacement bags are like $34 for a few bags which you will pay to the garbage can over and over just replacing bags as the rings are one time use only since it is cardboard that will surely tear and due to awkward shape you can’t just use any bags. This is the biggest waste of money I have ever spent and not worth it as you will have to spend thousands per year just replacing bags. Don’t waste your money! I would give 0 stars if I could!

Truly the best thing I've purchased in a while! I don't ever have to touch the garbage myself. It literally changes itself. This video I've attached shows the process of changing the bag. Between time stamps 0:25 and 0:50 it's just the beeps, so you can skip. But truly, if you buy this, you won't regret it.

I've had my TowNew trash can for 3 months now, and I LOVE it!! It's the coolest trash can I've ever seen, and as far as I know there's no other company offering something like this. The fully automated bag-sealing process means I can 'take out the trash' without getting my hands dirty. Like other reviewers have said, it's small, but that's one of the things I like about it. Between the automation and the size, it encourages me to take out the kitchen trash more often, which keeps smells from building up. It has a small, understated profile that goes great with any modern decor. The bag changing system is so freaking easy. Taking out the trash is no longer a chore! With good trash cans costing $150 plus, I think this is a great value for the money. Will definitely be a long-time customer! Pros: - FULLY automated (lid, bag changing, bag sealing - all of it! I love not having to change bags!) - Small size - Long battery life! After the initial charge, I've only had to re-charge it once in 3 months - Extremely clean, minimal look - Good value - $100 for the trash can, plus $30 for 6 refill rings (150 bags) - obviously a little more pricey per refill than traditional trash bags, but it's worth it for the simplicity and ease of use - Novel 'cool' factor is always fun. This is definitely a talking point for anyone who witnesses the trash change process! Cons: - The trash bag material could be a little stronger. After a couple small rips in the beginning, I just stopped overfilling/pushing the trash down, and I haven't had any issues since!

Having owned this trash can for over a year, I can say that I would not repurchase. At first it was a novelty and the best part is that it loads a new bag. It also has an excellent motion detector. But from the start I had a problem with the bag changing cycle. The element that heats the plastic bags (which seals them). The large lid is not supposed to open until after the bag is sealed, so that you can remove the full bag. But my lid usually opens during the sealing phase, and I can always smell the burning plastic bag (which is a toxin, esp. in a small bathroom),. The problem might be that on the very first use, some bits of plastic bag became stuck in the heating element. I dug it out as best I could, but never did get all of it, so it remained. I've always wondered if it could be a fire hazard. Other issues I've noted: --You must stay and watch it. True, you don't have to pull out the old bag and put in a new one, but you must be present after it seals in order to remove the bag of trash. Some reviews have said it's nice not to have to touch the trash bag but of course you must dispose of it ,regardless. -It is LOUD. When the motion sensor opens the small door for you to throw something in it, it screeches like a fighting cat. (My family members made the same comment.) The blowing mechanism that loads a new bag is even louder. When the cycle finishes and the big lid closes, it closes with a BANG! -At about the 1-year mark, the sealer/blower quit working. I could see the two plastic bars trying to come together to seal the bag, but they would get stuck in the middle and the cycle would stop. At first I would turn off the power, physically move the bars back into place, cut the bag with scissors and tie off both ends, pull the new bag down into place and put the lid down myself. Because I'm stubborn, I stuck with this routine through several bag changes. Then, one day, it suddenly began working again. Go figure. I just don't know how long it will last now. -You have to be careful not to push the trash down or try to fill the bag all of the way, or the mechanism has trouble lifting and sealing the ends of the bag. A normal bag and can would be able to fit more if you emptied it manually, so you are not getting the most out of their expensive refill bags. After I've used all of my refills, or the next time it stops working, I intend to chuck it and go with a regular motion sensor trash can. For me, it just isn't worthwhile given the detractions and ongoing expense, and it doesn't save me as much time or trouble as I thought it would.
