Very detailed but how on earth do you get them smooth? What do you sand these with?

These wood carving stickers are generally smooth with sandpaper or sand ring drill bits

Not as thick as I was hoping they would be, but they do have great detail. I’m guessing the thickest is about 1/2 inch at most.
