Not an "edition" at all
Amazon and Pink Panda should both be ashamed of this 99 cent "edition", though in fairness, I suppose you get what you pay for, and I more or less assume the text is complete. But no pagination, the many footnotes are not linked, and the so-called Table of Contents reduced me to helpless giggling:Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 5A Chapter 5B Chapter 5C Chapter 5D Chapter 6 Chapter 6A Chapter 6B Chapter 6C Chapter 6D Chapter 6E Chapter 6F Chapter 6G Chapter 6H Chapter 6I Chapter 7 Chapter 7A Chapter 7B Chapter 7C Chapter 7D Chapter 7E Chapter 7FNo, those are not links, it looks exactly like that, and is every bit as silly as it looks here. This public-domain hackwork should be free, not even 99 cents; in 5 minutes a competent secretary could have added the chapter links, and probably in another half hour do the footnotes. I don't think anybody spent even 15 minutes "preparing" this "edition", and every sale is 100% profit. Caveat emptor.Note that there is ANOTHER Kindle edition that appears to be the real thing, but for some reason did not appear in my original search, leading me to purchase this infuriating book. Don't; go here instead: The Interpretation of Dreams: The Complete and Definitive Text

This is NOT Freud's original Interpretation of Dreams
This is a reprint of Freud's "Dream Psychology" published years later than "Interpretation of Dreams." Also, "Dream Psychology" can be found free online.

a classic ponderously translated....
by the ever-turgid Strachey, who loves medical metaphors and Latinized phrasings more than Freud loved literary clarity; but aside from that, THE classic of psychoanalysis, and the first (and, for Freud, the favorite) of Freud's great works. One can imagine that modern dream research would have interested Freud as much as its reductionist speculations would have amused him. Certainly he'd never have argued that because a patient's stomach hurt during a painful recital of an early memory, this indigestible piece of emotional trauma was "caused" by the gastronomic rejection of a burnt piece of toast eaten just before the session. OF COURSE psychical activity has a physical substrate. And, perhaps, vice versa. What he'd have wanted to know was: in what psychological situation was all this embedded? One can't help but admire the boldness and honesty with which Freud presented his own dreams and associations. We might speculate in hindsight that Irma, the partially cured patient whom Freud tried to talk out of her hysteria, showed up in his dream with throat and stomach symptoms and an illness caused by a bad injection to protest the way he injected women with his sex-etiology theories, thereby in effect silencing their true voice; and smile at Freud's dream of an orator named Lecher, a dream he had shortly after accepting a position in which he did a lot of public speaking about psychology. But that we can speculate thus we owe largely to the techniques inspired by Freud himself. He was often wrong, but the spirit of his endeavor lives on.

Very Informative...
This book is very interesting. I've always enjoyed trying to understand what my dreams are about. They are actually meant to tell you about your present or past life. I have also been very interested by Sigmund Freud and his points. I thought it was a really interesting book and I think you will to. I did get this product for a free or discounted price in return for my review. You have to be in to certain things and the mind to be able to enjoy this, but I do highly recommend that you give it a chance, you could get lost in the interesting information and learn new things about yourself.

A challenging read, for more reasons than one
For anyone interested in how dream psychology came to be, this seems like the perfect place to start your research. And there is, in fact, no denying how much Freud has defined and shaped our understanding of the unconscious, why we dream, or the sexual / psychosexual driving forces behind our behaviours and motivations. However, as we now know today, Freud's theories stand the test of time only to some extent. His over-fixation on sexual impulses was, for example, one of the reasons which led to his infamous feud with Jung, and the truth is that part of his live-long work feels driven more by an obsession than an actual objective, pragmatic research quest. This, along with the way this book is written (a slight part might have to do with the translation, as I remember reading an older version and not being left with the same feeling) has the potential to shy away readers whose sole purpose is a curious look into such fascinating artifacts of the human psyche.Nevertheless, this is a must read if you intend do broaden and develop your own insights regarding the dreamworld. It is, of course, filled with not-so-scientific, sometimes even highly subjective personal interpretations, but this is obviously a very revealing peak into one of the most fascinating minds in the field of Psychology, even though Freud himself was a neurologist.

Good book by Freud
Good book by Freud, however this edition seems a more modern translation and isn't the same as the original english translation so I actually ended up reading this work of Freuds online via PDF after purchasing it as I wasn't sure if the newer edition would lose something from the older edition. It is a very good price regardless, and good if you wanted to get an insight into Freuds opinion on Dreams

A challenging read
I almost groaned when I found out I was going to be looking at Freud in my psychology class. But after learning about him in class, I snapped up this book when it was available at the price I paid for it. I've always been interested in dreams and their interpretation, but hasn't connected it with Freud. It will probably be heavy going to read it as all psychology texts are, but I'm sure it'll be an interesting read. Quality of the book delivered is excellent.
