Got two of these connected to a Raspberry Pi, one for ACARS and the other for ADS-B. Been operating solidly 24/7 since purchase. Really easy to get up and running too. Plugged in directly they operate too hot to touch but on a USB extension or 90 degree adaptor as I’m using, they’re not so bad but still run really hot. To be fair, even a standard USB memory stick runs really hot in a RPi.

Previously purchased an NESDR SMArt which has served me well but needed an RTL-SDR with a bias tee to power an active L-Band patch antenna for receiving Inmarsat Std-C data and the NESDR SMArTee fits the bill. Driver installation was not necessary in my case but it is easy enough to do with the Zadig application and instructions on the NooElec website.

Bias tee always on by default, no messing with software switching. Great little radio for experimenting with Satcoms especially when teamed up with a sawbird io and running Jaero decoding program, as mentioned in my blog pages. Thanks John and the team at Nooelec, great product, brilliant value for money.

This is a FANTASTIC entry point into the world of SDR receivers. This version offers the same functionality as the NESDR v4 but with added BiasT power on the SMA port. NooElec also do the Lana wideband RF amplifier, which to be honest adds a load of gain but offers no benefit if used right before the input of the SDR. I suspect it needs to be used like a masthead preamp next to an antenna to amplify signals down a long coax run. The Flamingo FM+ is excellent however and offers good attenuation of broadcast FM stations. This SDR provides great stability and capability when using SDR#. And yes it can be used to pick up ADS-B if you want to feed flightradar24 etc.... 2Mhz of bandwidth is very usable, more is great but you have to pay for it. This is the perfect first step into SDR. Highly recommend!

Tried on 2 laptops and 1 pc watched 3 hrs of online YouTube re installed drivers multiple times it doesn't seem to work?

Ik gebruik Nooelec SDR nu al meer dan 8 jaar en heb enkele van deze versies hier getest, en ook deze stellen me niet teleur, een goede en stoorvrije oplossing om je LNA aan stroom te voorzien. Een metalen behuizing, met binnenin tevens een koelvin op de printplaat , zo moet het zijn .

Radio ham for more than 40 years I have done moon bounce on 2m and 70cms, RADAR engineer and Have worked with RF up to 100GHz. I am so amazed at how a low cost usb device works so very well. Get a good low noise amp to use with this and good SDR software as well and you will also be amazed!

Reliable and good performance for ADSB flight tracking. Powers the LNA directly via the integrated bias T. Nice compact form and metal case for long term usage.

Contrairement à certains commentaires, cette clé sdr fonctionne parfaitement, et ce sur 4 bécanes... 1 tablette Acer windows8, 1 pc portable windows 7 et 2 tours windows 7... aucun souci d'installation, zadig installe le pilote les doigts dans le nez. SDR SHARP sur les 4 pc, et plus stable qu'avec la clé bleue. la clé est connectée à differentes antennes, en fonction de ce que je veux écouter: discone pour un peu de tout, une antenne QFH pour les satellites météo, et une yagi 3 éléments pour l'aéroport de Roissy. Rien à redire non plus concernant Nooelec, tres bonne communication. Produit à recommander.
