Review of Neodrain Shower Drain Stainless Steel Square Floor Drain 20cm with 360° Siphon.The item received a mesh grating style floor drain, the included instruction sheet does show an alternative to the mesh grate, this a tile tray (not supplied) which allows a matching floor tile to be inserted instead of the stainless steel mesh grate.The actual shower/wet room drain is of stainless steel construction 200mm x 200mm (8” x 8”) square to be inserted into the shower/wet room floor, the square frame quite easy to fit and can be laid into concrete or wooden floors, it is of welded construction so all one piece to avoid leaks, the outer horizontal lip allowing tiles or floor covering to be laid over it and butt up against the vertical lip of the mesh grate surround, the flooring being sealed by sealer or grout before use.On the underside of the square drain is a large circular welded tube opening to which the plastic drain siphon outlet pushes onto, this sealed by a large pre-fitted “O” ring allowing 360 degree outlet rotation, on normal shower drains the outlet/siphon held in position by a central screw unfortunately this outlet has to be supported from below by alternate means or it could push off with water flow over time, not a great hardship but important to remember during fitting.Internally a hair strainer and drain odour prevention valve are fitted into the stainless frame central drain hole below the removable stainless grate, a mesh grate lifting hook, pipe connector and a pipe size adapter are included within the package plus a paper leaflet giving very good instructions on fitting the complete drain assembly.Personally I do like this large drain assembly, it is well constructed, solid and easy to fit, the installation instructions comprehensive and detailed, drain depth no deeper than "off the shelf" shower drains despite it’s large square size, this item for designed and built showers/wet rooms and not for preformed over the counter shower bases.
