Was expecting to be mildly disappointed but was blown away instead. Fan is much better than my pun
My first review for this item (out of box, put together, and general use for a day) is 5 stars due to how easy it was to setup in not only the app but physically as well. What really surprised me was the build quality or what seemed like that lack of build quality.Build: the housing of the fan and pretty much the entire unit is composed primarily of cheap feeling, lightweight plastic. The base itself is very solid and the entire thing looks sleek put together but I couldn't get used to how cheap the stand and fan itself felt. But it makes sense based on the features, design, and intended uses--I'm used to a large, metal floor fan from Home Depot. I was also initially surprised and disappointed by the size of the unit and assumed I made a poor decision in purchasing this--it does NOT look like it puts out much if any air, again, I was biased by large floor/garage/shop fans that I've been using for years. I was quickly proven wrong and will get to that later.Setup: I set the fan up using the quick start guide and experienced no issues. I downloaded the app and connected the unit to my wifi and then proceeded to add it to google home. I experienced no issues with this process at all and it was far easier and more efficient than setting up any google product or other IoT device--no useless steps, quickly connected without issue, and worked immediately.Usage: After setting it up on the app and in home, I started trying out the different features. The oscillation options are next-level amazing: you can adjust it manually asymmetrically or symmetrically, you can used pre-defined angles, or just wing it. I like the fact that you can have it auto sweep on a set path (or pre-defined) and then manually adjust the direction the oscillation is currently turned off for (so you can have it sweep horizontally and bump the vertical up and down instead of oscillate). The speeds are great and neat that it has a temperature reading. You can adjust a lot of miscellaneous parts such as the brightness of the display. There's a lot to play around with in the app--which is designed really nicely by the way, it looks great. The fan itself blows--and amazingly at that. I thought the whole 'column of air' that these types of fans advertise were silly nonsense since I owned a few vornados back in the day. This one actually does it. I have it across the room pointed at my bed and I can easily feel where the air starts and stops, it is a very tight knit cone. Also it is designed to be easily taken apart for cleaning. That is awesome foresight.Overall--so far--it is much better than I was expecting because I planned on being mildly disappointed at best. Instead I was proven wrong and overly pleasantly surprised. I really hope I don't come back and update this review in less than 3 years (if it lasts 3 years for how often I will use it then I will be pleased), because I really like this fan. The overall design/philosophy behind the features/design has made me want to check out more products from Dreo--it's really nice finding a new brand that is worth the hype.

More than 1 way to get 5 stars
I bought this fan last August, and really liked it for several reasons. It is quiet, efficient, and has some modes that I use often (e.g. "natural," whereby the speed varies like an outdoor breeze). Then last week (7 months later) it just stopped working. I had unplugged it to move it, and when plugged back in, nothing happened. I checked the power cord/transformer, and it was delivering 24 volts as it should, so the problem seemed to be with the fan unit. That would have dropped my rating down to a 2 or 3, had things ended there, since it's not the least expensive fan available and 7 months isn't much of a lifespan. However, Dreo puts its customer support phone number right on the product, so I gave them a call. No wait for an answer, a woman named Mary asked me what the problem was, and asked me for some info on the fan, which I emailed to her. I had a response within an hour, saying they were shipping me a replacement.And... they asked me to return the faulty unit to them (optional) when the new one arrives so they can do some investigating as to what went wrong, which indicates to me that they care about improving their products.Forget a 2 or 3 star rating, it's a solid 5 to me with that kind of customer service and follow through. Any product can have a flaw, but standing behind the product and supporting their customers balances that out in my book.

The fan to end all other fans
This is the fan you need in your life. I bought this, fell in love with it, and recommended it to my mother, who said it was better than her very expensive Dyson fan. There are so many ways to control the fan. It moves air in near silence and has helped cut down my energy bill by taking some of the cooling stress away from my air conditioner. We haven't reached the hottest part of the summer yet, but I haven't gotten the fan past level 3. When it is over 100 degrees for days at a time, I will increase the speed and thank the fan gods for making this fan.

Super powerful yet quiet
Blows great air at speed 6. Speed 9 is pretty strong. Sure strong means a little louder but it’s still just background noise, not like a tower or worse a box fan. It’s also super cool to watch.Smart capabilities means I can yell at Alexa to turn it on when I’m too lazy to get off the couch and my phone has slipped between the cushions in. If it could bring me a cold glass of lemonade on demand then I would give it 6 stars and then I would adopt it, and show it more love than I do for any of its human siblings.

I bought 2!
I love this fan so much that I bought a second one. It comes with a remote but also has Bluetooth capabilities, so we have it hooked up to our Alexa. The air flow levels range from 1 to 9 and have various oscillating patterns. If you use the app, you can also customize it. It is a little heavy, but can be moved around without an issue. The largest area I've used this was the living room (about 300 sq ft), and it made an impact - it is versatile for all areas of the home or garage.

One Flaw IMO
Love the fan, the power, the versatility and the app offers customizations I didn't know could exist with a fan! Very sleek and easy to clean. Can be a bit tricky on first assembly, but I think because the weight of the base may catch you off gaurd. Speaking of which, there is some sort of tipping safety feature. Not a fan of the power cord, just seems too flimsy for a fan like this, but not a dealer breaker.Overall not too heavy, may be compared to the weight of a Dyson tower. Or a bit heavier. Most of the weight is the base. This fan really moves the air in a way I haven't experienced with any other fan. And as someone who runs hot, I've gone through MANY fans! The only flaw in my opinion is the app only works when the device is connected to wifi. I would think Bluetooth would be the conduit but it's wifi. Yes there is a remote, but the app allows for several customizations for a unique cooling experience!I've only had it for winter and spring. Will see the efficacy in the summer.🤞🏽
