Rust-Oleum 7860519 1 Quart White Specialty Tub & Tile Refreshing Kit, Rust-Oleum Paint, Rust-Oleum Paint and Sundries, Rust-Oleum, 7860519 1 Quart White Specialty Review: Probably need one more coat - I transformed my outdated gray/beige guest bath with two set of these. I could probably do one more coat but it’s so beautiful. There was a paint shortage and I used an off brand in the corner and it 100% does not compare to this paint. Tub and tile finishes beautifully and isn’t sticky/tacky like other more expensive brands. Review: Perfect - I loved it, I bought two kits, I used it in my bathroom and it was perfect.

$38 gives you a new tub!
Recently remodeled a real crappy apartment bathroom. Saved iron tub. Let’s paint it. First time I used this paint. Prep is the key here!! Spend an hr random orbital sanding 100 grit. Vacuum, acetone it, tape sides, use sponge 6 inch x 1 roller, thin coats. Tub and room temp is important, best if 70+ degrees. 3 or more coats, be careful that previous coat is fully dry because paint will peel back some. Be patient! Wow I’m impressed, looks like new. Definitely worth $38 I painted over drain upper one also. J

I thought it was me! It wasn’t… wrinkles and bubbles
I obviously saw a bit too many positive reviews online and YT videos so I enthusiastically bought a 3-kit package for the first of two bathrooms. Nearly two whole kits were wasted as wrinkling occurred and once you mix a kit, it’s use it or lose it. Each cost nearly $40 as it’s hard to find in a store To the point, second coat is where all hell broke loose. Wrinkles that looked like fractured distressed art work. It happened within a minute while paint was fresh. I second guessed myself from prepping to cleaning to type of roller to humidity and even wondered if tack cloth left a residue. None of the above. This is a defective product and I concluded this in buying a 3-kit package for second bathroom, thinking Ingot this figured out. Same crap happened but even worse… whole wall got wrinkled within seconds of applying the second coat 24 hours later. Now I am in a pickle. The package awas smelly and the activator, wrapped in plastic, had a sticky touch to it on outside. So who knows if this is defective, leaked out, expired, or what. The DIY dude being me is not the problem as I am meticulous. But I am too dumb apparently in believing the 4 star reviews. There has to be a competitor product that actually works. BTW, this is tile wall in a non-wet area of bathroom. Should be easy. Thankfully the fumes make you so incoherent that you forget how frustrated you are in wasting time and money. Call the 800 number at Rustoleum and they act like you are the very first person who has called with this problem. Live and learn.

Game changer
This was insanely easy to use. We hated the original backsplash in our new home, but with two weeks before Christmas we didn’t have enough time to demo and put up new backsplash. Loved how it turned out! My only suggestion to everyone is open the windows, it smells horrible and the smell lasts a couple days! I would recommend this product to anyone.

Even though the finish was pretty good, the fumes were so toxic and are definitely not safe for domestic use.
