An excellent golf bag
The 2024 version of this bag is a great improvement on the previous version. I have a Ping Craz-e-lite which until now has been my favourite ultra light stand bag however I have been disappointed with a few aspects which are: 1. Straps - I feel they are not padded enough on the Ping and they are the biggest flaw with that bag, by the end of the round the bag feels heavier than it is. This TaylorMade(TM) bag has much improved padded straps, it's so much more comfortable by the end of the round. 2. Valuables pocket - the Ping one is unlined and at the zip opening is at the wrong angle when walking. The TM valuables pocket is lined and just at the right angle. 3. The material - Its a little flimsy feeling, I know it's lightweight but the TM version is similar material but more robust and feels like it will last a lot longer. 4. The grab handle - The Ping is just a thin strap, the TM is structured and padded which is a great improvement when putting in and out of the car. The bag feels well balanced, the straps are not too wide on my shoulders and its weight is typical of lightweight stand bags feeling very similar to the Titleist Players 4 Carbon which is probably the closest competitor to this bag. I have also been able to fit 14 clubs fine, the 3 way top is different to what I am used to but it's not a big problem, the afore mentioned Titleist had a very small top opening which I felt compromised that bag. The TM also has some great features such as: 1. Like the Ping it has a little clip for your keys in the main apparel pocket. 2. Also like the Ping it has a little pocket in the main apparel pocket but the TM also has one in the side pocket too which is great. 3. The tee pocket above the ball pocket is very big, however this does take up space in the ball pocket if you put bigger items in it but I felt this trade off to be worthwhile. 4. The bottle holder expands very well. I was able to fit a wide hydroflask into it however wider bottles like this do impact on the tee and ball pockets available space and taller bottles do restrict the zipper opening on the tee pocket, I don't know why the opening wasn't put on the other side off the bag. 5. Magnetic legs - game changer, no more droopy legs! Other things to note are the Navy is a little darker than on some stock pictures on websites, for me this was a positive thing. I would prefer it had a towel ring, the little fabric strap is fine but I much prefer a built in towel ring. Like other bags it has a zip entry to the bottom off the club compartment.
