This works great for preventing purple fingers while flossing
This item is perfect. I was hesitant to buy it at first due to the bad reviews, but the video really does explain how to wind it and I think the reviews are ridiculously negative.I was simply looking for something that would hold whatever floss I wanted (I use dentotape but after trying it, anything would fit) and not cause my finger tips to turn purple and painful. The reason I hate flossing is because of the finger pain!I wrap the floss like the posted video of the item then once the floss is where I want it I use my finger to push it between my teeth and the handles to scrape the floss up and down and around. The handles let me keep the floss as tight or relaxed as I need and the metal posts hold the floss ends instead of having it slip out of my fingers.I was able to take more time and care while flossing because I wasn't losing circulation to my finger tips.I would also like to note that the metal is finished well.. I was a little worried that it would be stamped out and have rough or sharp edges but it's very smooth and comfortable to use. Nothing is sharp.I spent way too long looking for something like this so thank you to the manufacturer. Well done, will recommend and would definitely buy again.Giving this tool a horrible review is just silly and I don't understand what they were expecting.

Unclear how to string it
Flossing hurts my fingers, so i tried four different handles. This one looked promising, but it does not have instructions on how to string the floss or grip the handles. I like that it came with a case and with floss. After buying four different floss handles, i find i like the clix flosser the best because easy to use on the first try, and you don’t have to load the floss every time. The flosser that looks like a little person works well if you prefer to self load the floss.

Finally something that works
I’ve always hated flossing because of the way the floss cuts off circulation in my fingers. But plastic floss picks are wasteful and other refillable holders never hold the floss tight enough. With these, I can get the right tension and save my fingers at the same time, and use way less floss to boot!Tip: use your thumb and pointer finger to pinch the top of the holders and use your other fingers to loosely hold the handle. This will let you control the floss just as well as you can with just your fingers.

Steel beats enamel every time
Threading the floss is easy. The problem is that I couldn’t find a way to use this tool without the stainless steel tongs beating against my teeth. I tried different angles, tried to see if I just needed to improve my technique until I realized that there’s no way to avoid impact. These could chip a tooth. Now I realize why the competing products are made of plastic. Also, this product is made in China, so there’s reason to wonder about this material that they’re calling stainless steel. I always worry about heavy metal contaminants in metal alloy products made in the PRC.Definitely would not recommend.

Floss holder that works
I almost never write reviews but I think these guys deserve it. I have tried many other floss holders in the past but this is the first one that I feel is going to be a long term solution for me.It took me a day to get the hang of it but now I can floss faster then before using way less floss and with way less discomfort. I think it's pretty cool that I'll basically be using this for the rest of my life. One thing I found is that it's better to keep the floss on the bottom slot because the floss always comes off the top one

Glad I gave this a try and I’m happy with the purchase.
The mixed ratings scares me a little bit at first, but I really don’t like one time use floss, so I decide I have to give it a try. It took me few tries to figure out how to wrap the string on, but once I learned, it’s super easy. I use a hair tie to hold the 2 pieces together, then I can maneuver it using only one hand, just like regular floss. I’m happy with my purchase and will definitely consider buying more for my family.

Didn't know people had issues with traditional flossing
I was intrigued by this product, seemed kind of like a neat idea. But after using it, not so sure. I've never had problems with floss and using my fingers. It gives me a lot of control and I have spatial awareness of where I need to floss when I'm using my fingers. This product really challenges you with a spin on a daily (mostly daily... weekly?) routine that I've been doing my entire life.I was pessimistic at the start about how much floss this would use. But I was really surprised that you did not need much at all. Not that floss is an expensive material, but I've been getting a steady supply from my dental checkups that I was worried would be disrupted by this item. I can't imagine having to purposely buy floss! But it didn't take much floss at all to wrap around the ends of the holders and it feels really sturdy and secure to both ends. Which gives you a lot of room to work with when you use them. But using them is a little tricky. It is very different from what I'm used to and adds a lot of length beyond your fingers. You almost have to relearn spatial awareness when using them, and it makes it tough to figure out where my teeth gaps are for me floss. Holding it is also really awkward. Two hands just seems like too much and a lot to deal with, but you can't quite get the tension you need with just one hand. And at the end of the routine, you have two very spit wet holders. Doesn't seem as gross when you are just using your fingers since you just wash your hands. But it is front and center when you use the holders, something I never really thought of. How much spit you have to deal with...To top it all off, it is kind of pricey for only two small custom made pieces of metal. Not sure I'll be putting in the time to get used to using them for my monthly habit. Nice travel case minus the enormous sticker that is tough to remove. AA battery for scale.
