Alice's Wonderland Sampler Quilt: 100 Quilt Blocks to Improve Your Sewing Skills

Beautiful book!

This is an amazing book with 100 patterns to do a rainbow colored quilt with liberty Tana Lawn in 6 inch blocks. We had actually bought the entire quilt kit and needed an extra book because two people are working on the project. The book is designed to be a skill building book starting with more easy Quilt piecing skills working up to more challenging piecing skills. It starts with straight lines, goes onto half square triangles, flying geese, and eventually appliqué, and English paper piecing. They are all in different sections and all clearly delineated. The fabrics are clearly marked with the names of the actual fabrics so if you wish to buy those particular fabrics, then you can go ahead and do it. All of the templates are in the book, alternatively, you can also download the templates from the Alyce Caroline website.Although this will be a challenge to complete, it’s a wonderful project to work on alone or with other people. Of course you can substitute your own colors. The only thing we found challenging so far was choosing a background color. But we finally made our selection. If you end up buying the kit from the company in England, background fabric does not come with it and you have to buy it separately. Kona cotton snow best fits the bill as a cream color to go as the background.

One of the very best books that I have, and I have a library of books about patchwork! Instructions are easy to follow, with clear diagrams. I've started a quilt using scraps but following the colours in the book. Would recommend it to EVERYONE, beginner or experienced quikter. Can't praise it highly enough.

Nachdem ich mich damit abgefunden habe, dass es die schönsten Bücher nur auf Englisch gibt, bin ich hier fündig geworden.Ich fühle mich wirklich wie im Wunderland bei den vielen Ideen. Da weiß ich noch gar nicht, womit ich anfange. Werde es beim nächsten Einkauf in meine Patchworkdiele mitnehmen und dann starten.Englischkenntnisse sind nicht zwanghaft erforderlich. Alles gut beschrieben und erklärt!!!!
