This is a great product. I use this for Wildland firefighting. There is a need to signal aircraft from time to time, IE having them point you in the right direction looking for something, etc. The reason I am buying a second one is that I had tied the first one to the backpack strap to my Wildland fire pack, it wasn't protected and took a lot of beating over time and the compass part broke off. I don't plan on using the compass part but it's sharp and a safety issue so I threw it away. It has a nice case, I plan on leaving it in the case and just throwing it in a pocket and storing it that way this time. I don't understand the neg comments on this, from someone that has actually signaled aircraft in real life, this thing works great. Even to the point that I am able to see a light reflection flash across the side of the airplane. But then again, the plane knew where I was, I was in radio contact with the plane and I knew where the aircraft would be flying. For those saying this 2 x 3 inch mirror seems small, I measured it, it is 2 x 3. So maybe..... your wife or girlfriend has been lying to you to make you feel good and you just over estimate the size of hand held objects.

Perfect addition to my edc pack.. whether it's looking for debris in my eye, shaving on the go, or maybe one day I might actually have to use it for its intended purpose!

Light weight , bright but scratches easy . Good value

Whistle is useless and sighting window is so hazy you can't see to aim it. It is at least reflective.

it is compact , well made and easy to carry . i have not used it yet . But it will be with me when i start kayaking in April . Hopefully it is only insurance

I will not give any star for the compass but the mirror is thick and small and this is what i needed.
