Radeon RX 5600 Graphics Card, 6GB GDDR6 192-Bit RDNA Architecture 1575/1620 MHz (Base/Boost Clock) DirectX 12 HDMI DP PCIe4.0 1080P PC Gaming Video Card for Office Gaming

*I am by no means a GPU expert* Bought this for my son's PC which serves as a mid-range gaming PC. I've been using his computer while I wait for a new motherboard for my main PC, which uses the Nvidia RTX 3060 12GB. His PC had a GTX 770 which is pretty old, only 2GB of memory and wouldn't run Guardians of the Galaxy which was recently given away on the Epic Games store, so I did some shopping around and found this card. I was a little nervous about this card since there were 0 reviews. With the $20 instant coupon and the Amazon rewards points I had saved up, I figured why not take a chance on AMD since the last 'AMD' card I owned was like an ATI 9700 back in the day...Anyways, this arrived today and I removed the RTX 3060 I was using temporarily and also removed the drivers (go into hardware device manager, click on uninstall video adapter and check the box to remove driver software). Rebooted with the RX 5600XT and proceeded to install the drivers from AMD website. At first the installation failed because it said windows had a pending update. I could see the drivers were indeed installed in device manager, but the Adrenaline software was not installed. Rebooted, second time thru it worked and the Adrenaline software was now installed.The three main games I've been playing lately are Metro 2033, Black Mesa, and the new GOTG. A few weeks ago on the GTX 770, then the RTX 3060 for about a week and now this card. I will say I was a bit skeptical because the Graphics card vs Graphics card sites usually don't have good things to say about AMD cards, mainly because of market share/stability issues. After a few hours of tinkering with the settings, I didn't really have any crashes to speak of. Black Mesa likes to exit when changing resolutions, but it did that with my Nvidia cards too.The performance overlay for the AMD software is a bit wonky, and when paired with the upscaling feature it can appear very small on the screen even when scaled 200%. The Adrenaline software was much different than what I was used to with Nvidia, so it took a little while to figure out (desktop scaling is under the 'Create' menu option, who knew). At first I ran a benchmark with 3D Mark Vantage, its old I know, but I recently did a benchmark with the RTX 3060 so it was good to at least compare the two cards with an older benchmark, and the RX 5600XT handled it really well, I was very surprised to see it almost had the same score as the RTX 3060. Now obviously the 3060 is a superior card with Ray Tracing, DLSS etc, but for older games which is what he and I mostly play, I was pleasantly surprised at this result.I played all 3 games then with the AMD upscaling feature turned on, which when games are run at say 1080p, the AMD GPU upscales the image to the max monitor resolution, which in my case was 3840x2160 on the bedroom TV. Black Mesa and Metro 2033 ran at a solid 60fps, with GOTG struggling to maintain 60fps but held right around 55fps. I ended up turning this upscaling feature off because some games would have a black border and didn't seem like it was using the full size of the screen. This feature can be turned off/on easily enough if desired. Playing now at 1080p, all games performed very well with GOTG now almost holding 60fps on medium settings.Overall, I am very pleased with this card and the cost/performance. Its a huge upgrade from the GTX 770, has 6GB of really fast ddr6 RAM, and can be overclocked although I'm not really into doing that at this point, but the option is there. While it cannot run Black Mesa at full resolution on ultra settings at 60fps like the RTX 3060, it still runs 60fps on medium/high settings while in 1080p, and for a 2nd mid-range gaming PC, that's all I wanted. Combined with the low price and the fact that it came with an 8 pin 2x6 splitter cable, and looks cool in white (for the record there are no RGB lights on this card), this is definitely a recommended buy for anyone looking for a solid light-tier gaming GPU.

First I say that I do not blame the problems I've incurred on this project I started. It's possibly my fault. See, i didn't do a clean uninstall before I changed the gpus out. Usually any game that game close to pushing the power of the new 5600 OEM was met with a driver timeout every time. I had to put the older gru in and all problems went away. Now i wait for a bigger psu to ship in, then I plan to reinstall the 5600 back and retry. -EDIT-The PSU I purchased finally was delivered and installed. Sad to say that wasn't the problem. I've gone through all troubleshooting I could find. Nothing has stopped the driver timeouts. As much that I wanted this gpu to work out, I fear I may not be able to stop the timeouts. So, with my options being slim I have decided to cut my loses and try to resell it to someone who might not have these troubles that I had. I think I will try out the Nvidia 1660 Super and probably shy away from AMD gpus in the future if the drivers they use are as headache inducing as the 5600 OEM.-FINAL EDIT-After switching back to my RX 570 and then again back to the 5600, I thought I might have finally stabilized the 5600. But something happened that was unprecedented. I had fallen asleep for a short time while I was playing some games on my pc. When I awoke, my pc had shut down. I rebooted back up and got a mess saying that my pc had uninstalled my GPU due to some kind of malfunction. I didn't troubleshoot this time. Instead I reinstalled the 570 and gave up on the 5600 altogether. I'm to assume the graphics card was faulty from the beginning, even though it was bought brand new and showed no sign or damage of any kind. I can't even get my money back from the seller because I missed the return window.Buy at your own risk.

good card and not bad on price

Cheap plastic cover but it goes with the white theme of my PC. Fans never stop spinning when the PC is on. Uses both a six pin and an eight pin PCIe connector, which is a bit odd for a card that is on par with a 1660 Super. My guess is that these are rebranded 5600 OEM cards which is what Windows detected the one I purchased as when automatically searching for display adapters in Device Manager (I didn't have any luck with AMD's official 5600 XT drivers). It works well on a budget. I can comfortably get in some 1440p with it, which is about what you'd expect from a 1660 Super as well, though it's better off as a 1080p card.
