Good out door security light does just the job

It's not often I leave reviews, as it's too time consuming! But this light is worth a review. I was receiving complaints from neighbours, that my previous security light was shining into their windows, as it as fixed. This light allows you to angle the beams down (manually when you fit the light) ... it also allows you to dim the brightness from your phone, to avoid the light being too bright at night ... and when it's full on - it is VERY bright! A brilliant product. Definitely recommended.

Update: 19.11.24. Over six months ago the app stopped working. Having reached out to customer service eventually it was fixed. The lights still worked but we just couldn’t use the app. Having received a free replacement everything worked as it should again. Some better instructions and troubleshooting would be useful in app or online. These seem good for the price. No main issues so far with performance. What is really annoying is that if a cat goes by and sets the light off, it’s considered as a human. There should be a way to set lights by sise of animal or human. Other than that, it’s annoying to have yet another smart app, but so far so good. I guess the real test will come in the winter.

Easy set up, a little challenging with a tight cable termination space, but got there in the end

Saturday afternoon I will never get back trying to fit this thing. Ended going in the wheelie bin. How the hall are you supposed to connect the cables at the back? How are you then supposed to try and fit the head onto a small back plate with the shortest screws ever. How could something so simple be made so complicated and un workable. Didn't even see what it could do when live as it ended up in the bin through frustration!

Really impressed, hooked it straight up to app, it now links to Alexa and Google so I can just say, "turn on the garden light" good brightness and fairly straight forward to wire in, may need a bit of fiddling around depending on the surface but not too difficult, highly recommended.

I use mine as a garden light targeting my patio and garden path ... although it lights up my whole medium sized garden. I only needed basic motion detection and the option to also turn on the light/off using Alexa. I initially tcked too many boxes on the Aidot app's options list but after I observed its behaviour I realised I only needed to tick the basic motion detection box and connect the Aidot app to Alexa (too many other variations to mention here!). Wiring requires pushing the insulated conductors through the silicon cover that protects the junction box, you need to finish piercing the two prepared holes (aka tubes) through first and I found it useful to also stretch the holes with a small cross head screwdriver before pushing the wires through. Being plastic there is no earth conductor terminal.

I have bought two of these because the flexibility means that they can be directed in awkward places. One lamp works perfectly in all modes, the second light does not work in motion detection at all and continually needs to be reset in all modes. No help from technical support.
