Every shop needs this
I have (had) another one of these but a very cheap one. This is much better and one of my favorites. The blade had a basic edge on it. I finished sharpening the .126 thick blade, and flattened the back. This took only a few minutes because the basic edge and back were not that bad. I flattened the sole, which not that bad as well. The frog was hard to check, but had good maching marks. The lever cap and screw work well, the blade adjustment fits well in the blade slot and has good adjustable operation. This fits comfortable in the hand. For this price this was a very pleasant surprise. I have some Jacobson clamps and like the build quality of them as well. This is a great tool for a great price.(guess I could have just said that and been done with it 😏)

GREAT beginner Planer! Every day use!
I’m a long time nonprofessional woodworker and hobbyist, but I’ve never used a plane. I’ve always sawed, chiseled, and sanded endlessly. Ive streamed and watched countless makers on tv and finally felt comfortable enough to try planing myself. I bought a few cheap ones and they just frustrated me. I saw this plane and it was such a good deal with many positive reviews so I decided to try one more time. Boy, I’m glad I did! Right out of the box I was able to adjust the blade and I was working on my newest project in less than 5 mins. It arrived pre sharpened and the base is precision flat. What a deal! I can’t wait to find my next plane! I was not paid in any way for this review. I’m just SO impressed!

Sweet little planer - sure beats a chisel or razor blade or sander or...
This little planer is perfect for small intricate work. I needed it to knock down the edge of an epoxy resin project - about 3mm X 2mm. I will admit I had never used this small of a planer but once I took it apart and played with all the adjustments, I was able to adjust the blade out to 1mm and tightened everything down. I was able to knock down the excess resin left by the large silicon mold. The finger spot in the front of the tool allows the user to add pressure or let the tool float over the work. It did exactly what I needed and will be my tool of choice for fine detail work. My blade was sharp, the base of the planer was flat and all the adjustments/fine tuning of blade depth/evenness worked as described. Something notable/apparent on the tool was the lack of branding.. BTW, I used this for about two hours but it only takes about 15 minutes to master its usage - a light touch and thin shavings are it's strength!!

Cute, well made, great price, too but limited practicality.
Quality seems very good, with clean machining and a heavy, sharp blade. The blade cut well but I rehoned it to a mirror smoothness on diamond plates and it cuts very nicely. The small size limits it to things like chamfering edges on small pieces of wood. Very cute but it has limited practicality due to its size.

Good value and a good little tool.
Excellent tool, great price. I had to play around a little to adjust the blade to a comfortable level, but once I found the sweet spot, this little guy worked like a dream. Tiny, easily portable and gets the job done for a good price. For context, I needed a quick cheap purchase, as I have been looking all over for my planer which I don't frequently use. I'm renovating my 300 year old home and some of the window parts have swelled and were no longer fitting in place. This was perfect tool for what I needed and I didn't have to spend a small fortune on a new tool. Eventually, I will find my good planer but now I won't have to drive myself crazy trying to find it.

It's a Gem
I got this plane because it was made by Jorgensen who over my woodworking years has proven to make good stuff at a reasonable price. And it was cheap and I wanted to try one of these mini planes, as I had looked at many "violin" planes and thought they might work on situations where you had a small rough surface to smooth, or a small protusion sticking up to even out (such as dowel or screw hold wood cap). Its nicely made...good materials. It was packaged in a appropiate box, plastic cover over it,etc. It was amazing in use. I've recently been building chess boards for my family, and with very little adjustment I can get thin shavings to level/smooth out the edges/surface of the boards. And not just small 1 inch level...I can go the full board (24 Inches). The blade has lasted without sharpening yet...I must've used it 50 times so far....and the blade still is sharp! I even went to my larger block and #4 and #5 planes (lee valley, stanley) and gone back to this one...as they are harder to use to take small shavings - well that's probably my lack if fiddeling with them, than a knock of them. As others have pointed out, the finger round in the front gives you more control to press down and start off the plane, and steer it as you push thru. One tip, I find with this plane (as well on others) is to angle the plane to your plane direction and that will make take less off and be easier to control and push. I'm very happy with it, and its a gem. PS the only planes that I have that really compare in shaving performance are those small Chinese planes (the ones I have are 2" x 6") that you pull, rather the push - and they are harder to adjust the blade.

Well built and sharp!
If you’re on the fence about buying this little plane, it’s time to jump off! This is perhaps the coolest little plane in my collection. Jorgensen makes great clamps and they didn’t fail with this little plane. It does everything and more. You will find yourself using it for more tasks than you could’ve imagined.

Needed considerable tuning up then it should have
Not the high quality I expected from jorgensen but it does get the job done

Questa pialletta è fatta molto bene, tutta in metallo, robusta, è perfetta per piccoli lavori sul legno. La profondità di taglio è regolabile e la lama è molto efficiente.

I bought the JORGENSEN 3.5" mini wood plane for light touch-up work around the house—mainly trimming door edges and cleaning up small woodworking projects—and it’s done a solid job so far. Right out of the box, it felt well-made and sturdier than I expected at this price point. The blade was fairly sharp and only needed minor adjustment to get it just right. Once tuned, it produced smooth shavings and left a clean finish on soft and medium woods. This is not a tool meant for heavy-duty planing, so if you’re expecting to flatten large boards or remove a ton of material, this isn’t it. But for tight spaces or detail work, it’s perfect. I especially liked the compact size—it fits in the palm of your hand and gives you great control for delicate jobs. A couple of small drawbacks: the blade adjustment mechanism could be a bit more refined, and it took a few tries to get the depth exactly where I wanted it. Also, the grip isn't the most comfortable for extended use, but that’s expected with mini tools like this. Overall, it’s a great little tool to keep in the toolbox for quick fixes and fine-tuning. I wouldn’t rely on it for big tasks, but for small projects, it’s more than earned its place on my bench.

Works great. Smaller than I thought. The blade is nice and sharp. Slices thru hard maple with ease
