Great product if you need to paint.
This makes working with 5 gallon buckets of paint super easy. They fit perfectly in the tinting port on the 5 gallon buckets of paint I bought at Lowe’s. Allows me to pour paint into my tray with no mess or wasted paint.

So little info out there about spouts
Ok let me explain this product like I wish someone did before I bought this. Buckets aren’t rocket science but I’ve used a lot of 5 gallon containers and been surprised at the minor variations of lids and construction. I was looking for info on the little holes that are sometimes present in the lid, which I assumed a product like this would fit but I had a hard time finding out if there was any kind of standard or if I had to drill a hole myself (I didn’t). It helps to know that an unthreaded hole in the lid is typically called a tint port/plug. There are some that are threaded but most are not and the bung just pushes in as a friction fit. I had a lid with this type of press-fit plug already. This spout has two removable pieces on the bottom supporting two different thread sizes. The main spout has an o-ring so if you remove both threaded ring adapters you can snap the spout directly into the unthreaded tint port in the lid. There was one lone YouTube video that helped me out by Tech Otto that explained this for a similar looking product. This spout is made of pretty solid plastic and the parts fit together well. The lid has a tapered friction fit that looks like it’s going to be pretty airtight which is not obvious from the picture in this listing. I took a gamble and it worked out. Hope this review helps those of you that just want something to pour from a simple freaking bucket already! The pictures for these suck and there aren’t good explanations of how they are supposed to work.

Doesn’t fit SW 5 gallon
This did not fit in the 5 gallon bucket to be able to secure it. I had to remove the spout from the screw portion of the lid for it to fit in the spout- but it wasn’t intended to use that way and mid pour, the spout and half a gallon of paint came pouring out of the bucket all over the floor. Not worth the time or money - find another pour spout!

For Specific Applications (see text)
Spout is ideally made for applications where you are using it in lid with existing plug or bung hole that it can be screwed into. Has couple of threaded adapters that can be screwed into plug and have spout inserted into them (has o ring seal on spout). My application was not what it was designed for - see picture. Added spout to lid without existing cap, which the spout wouldn’t seal to without the help of some silicone caulking on the backside.Like the tight fitting cap, which should seal bucket well. Goal was to create a container to collect used ultrasonic cleaner solution. Should be able to dump several load before having to dispose of it.

Not a perfect fit for our bucket
We found that it seemed to come with extra parts and it did not fit our 5 gallon bucket nearly as well as we were expecting

Value for the money
Fit, functionality, easy of cleaning.

Versatile
It either snaps in, like many newer buckets, or also will outside and I think inside thread for other applications like oil-based paints and fluids.
