The wood from Beavercraft seems to be consistent. I’ve bought several different sizes and all have worked well for me.

These are perfect for my son who is just learning how to widdle. Small blocks, but they are good for beginners.

Mixed quality
The 4"x1"x1" pieces are very soft and easy to work with. However, all of the 4"x2"x2" pieces had knots which made them very hard to work with. I ended up having to discard them.
