Worth it
Love this! It is better than the lifts that come with the hot tub.

Works
Seemed a little shaky, but holds my cover just fine.

Great cover lift, but is rusting extensively in just six months
Works absolutely fantastic, and makes lifting the hot tub cover very easy. I would give this five stars except that I have only been using it for seven months and it is already getting very rusty, even though it is in a covered area. I will have to see how long it will last. If it last two or three years I would definitely give it five stars, but with the amount of rust it has already I am confident it will last at least a year, but how much longer, I am not sure.

Weak strut
The gas lift strut is very weak. It barely holds up the empty brackets. As soon as I slide my cover into the brackets it slams down violently. I can tell that this will eventually cause damage to the brackets from hitting the deck.I have it properly installed per the included instructions.Seems like a solid unit other than that, but it's not worth the money without a functional strut. If the seller sends me a replacement strut I'll give an update. I did contact customer service (AI chat bot) and the only option was to ship back the entire thing when all I need is a new strut.

I’m glad I bought this!
I like the quality, and I was able to install by myself with some ingenuity at age 72. Assembly was easy after studying the seller’s video on Amazon. I used a rubber mallet, after getting tips from other reviewers here, to push it underneath the completely empty hot tub ( a LS350 Plus by Lifesmart Spas, 110v Plug and Play, 28-jet spa, weight 440 lbs). I had to lift a corner just enough to get the edge of the cover lifter’s metal base under so I could then bang it gently into place using the rubber mallet. It helped that I had placed a piece of white Coroplast plastic sheet under the metal base so it would help slide it in & also protect the metal base from rust staining the concrete patio floor. I later trimmed the Coroplast sheet excess around the perimeter of the base. To lift the corner of the tub after getting the hydraulic cover lifter base with the Coroplast sheet in place where I wanted it, I used a pointed shovel used for digging deep when planting trees ( a long crowbar might work). It may be easier if you have a helper, but I was determined to do it & was able by myself. I placed the cover lifter on the longer side of my rectangular tub, opposite to the pump access side. It is working very well! I now can easily remove & put back the cover. My cover is not super heavy so this lift works great 👍.
