Excellent Quality and Price
This is a big, sturdy mariner's knife.Neither the blade nor the marlin spike lock. I would normally deduct points for omitting this important safety feature, but many places have foolish knife laws that forbid the use of knives with locks, resulting in more people getting nasty cuts. It is very usable despite the lack of locks. You just have to get used to working away from the direction the marlin spike folds. The blade is the right shape. It is nice and thick so it will not break on you. It has no serrations so it will not fray your rope. It has a perfectly straight edge for cutting rope against a plank. It came reasonably sharp from the factory too.The marlin spike avoided all the usual mistakes. The tip is slightly rounded so it will slip between the rope inside a knot instead of getting caught in it. The taper is long and gradual so it is easy to work into a tight knot. The price is excellent for this degree of quality.

Great rigging knife for the money
I’ve used this knife for years at my oilfield job in the arctic. I only use it on rope, I have other knives to thrash on, but this one stays razor sharp just for rope work. The marlin spike is great for splicing rope, and untying knots that work their way into tag lines. Well worth the money.

Good Sturdy Knife and Spike, But...
Decent build quality, especially for the price. The only problem for me is the weak backspring. It's not so weak that it it is dangerous if you apply good knife sense, but there is more than average potential for an accident if you put it to moderate to hard use in pushing motions. Even when I sharpened it on a DMT 220 and 320 bench stones, it wanted to close on me on the back stroke. It had that tendency even with the Chosera stones, which offer a lot less resistence. That's not good for safety or for ease of sharpening. That being said, it's a great value if you are careful.

I gave out a few of these as gifts to coworkers and they loved them
Not sure how much they got used but the quality seemed good and it was a nice surprise gift

Very handy
Wicked sharp, marlin spike is exceedinly handy to have around. I have in the home, car, at work. A little too big to carry all the time in my work pants/shorts.

Fabulous knife
I’ve got one. Super sharp. Marlin spike is strong enough to accomplish most hole punching/jabbing activities. Gave one to my son as a gift after graduating as an FAU ocean engineer.

This is a damn big pocketknife.
I guess I assumed that with only one blade and the marlinspike, this would be a pocketable knife. While technically it is, it is much bigger than my other marlinspike knives and more than I would carry day to day. It is a nice and functional knife and marlinspike but it weighs a lot for the average man's pocket.

Sturdy
This riggers knife is a tool. That's what I bought for. A utility knife with a Marlin spike. Nearly half a pound. Hopefully it will take the work.
