A mine of wit and wisdom
You'll never be lost for words with a copy of this book, as there's something for everyone from teenage to dotage. The quotes/anecdotes are a mix of funny, oh-so-true and downright philosophical. With a wealth of well chosen words for any and every occasion it's an absolute "must have" for anyone involved in public speaking or presentations, business or pleasure.Helpfully sectioned under main headings [such as Humanity, Sport & Leisure, Natural World, Arts & Entertainment, Science, Society, The Universe, etc.,] with heaps of more specific subheadings, it's really easy to find something to suit the occasion. For example, what better way to save face when you lose your place/clam up during a speech than to quote George Jessel: "The human brain starts working the moment you are born and never stops until you stand up to speak in public." A mine of wit and wisdom, I love it.

The title says it all.
It is a very funny book to enjoy. A few of the entries are a bit near the mark, but this may only be a generation game!I found it very amusing.

If you only ever get one quotations book IT MUST BE THIS ONE
Stop reading this review now and just BUY THE BOOK!Really, you won't regret it!It's stuffed full of superbly witty quoteable quotes, which are ideal for dropping into emails, slotting into speeches or just reading and cheering yourself up. One word of warning though, if you pick it up and start browsing, you won't put it down for AGES ... a tad tricky to explain if you happen to have grabbed it for a bit of light toilet reading!I stumbled across this book a few years ago whilst away on business and managed to embarrass myself by guffawing out loud whilst reading it in a restaurant and on a plane. This book seems so spookily in tune with my sense of humour and draws on so many cultural references which are familiar to me that I reckon Rosemarie Jarski qualifies as a genius (or a stalker!!!)

Not So Funny
Afraid I didn't find it that funny - one for the charity shop.

Good value
This is one of the funniest books I have ever picked up. It's not the sort of book that you would read cover to cover but just to pick it up and open a random page its hilarious. I brought it for my husband but i keep picking it up and so does everyone who comes into the house.

I read it, the kids love to read it too.
I bought it on the strength of the reviews I read. It was a treat for myself for Christmas. My two children,13 and both keep pinching it to read and then read it aloud when they find good quotes. Great book for lightening the mood and I would imagine very useful if you need to make a speech. Would make a good gift and I will probably end up buying more copies. I like the fact that it draws from all different sources from the classics to Harry Hill and Bart Simpson.

Funniest book i have read in ages!
before buying this i was a bit dubious thinking that it was going to be like one of those very oh so un-funny joke books you get from aunties at chrsitmas but alas no! after having a quick read in the book store i was sold......that is on amazon where it is cheaper (waterstones have enough money anyway!)absolutley brillaint quotes, one or two repeated by accident but amongst the thousands its nothing. read it from cover to cover its that good. its now made me a big fan Groucho Marx! - Hoorah!
