I have an older Garmin 496 probably one of the early models of them. Although the Battery fits in decently it doesn’t catch. They must’ve changed the measurement of the cats just slightly so the newer batteries do not work. I’ve tried several brands. None of them work I had to modify the latch area just to get it to hold on so I could actually use it With the Garmin clip the clips around the 496. It holds it in with my adaptions you must find a different manufacturer that has older template.

The battery would not lock in position. Since I need the GPS quickly had to force the battery in place took a lot of force to seat the battery.

Perfect fit for a GPSMAP 276+.

The description says that it fits "396" but it does NOT fit my Zumo 396 LMT-S, not even close... not even the same form factor. My Zumo takes a circuit-board mounted battery, and this one is an external clip on, like an old video camera. It looks well made, and came packaged nicely, but it's not for my 396. Be careful.
