The raspberry pi imager can see the connected NVMe drive and plant the image on it in a single step. I'm sure there are other uses, but i am doing a lot of Pi5 projects now and this thing has been an amazing time saver.

Will only power on when connected in one direction. if you pull the cable and flip it 180° and then re-insert, it will not receive power at all. Any action I try to take on any of the drives I have tried to format or image have always ended in failure. I have already requested an exchange so I'll see how that one works. If its the same I'll just have to use a different method that actually works.UPDATE: Second actually lets me write to the attached drive, but is so incredibly slow that it is useless for my needs of imaging the drive, as seen by the attachment. 6 MB write speeds are far below usb-C capabilities. The drive is a 970 EVO Plus, that I know is good as I can place it in PCI-E adapter and it works fine. I just wanted something that didn't require me to open the case to use.

Connects easily to my Beelink Mini computer (also an excellent alternative to motherboard based systems). This little USB C Hub takes full advantage of M.2 NVME memory cards. i.e. very fast transfer.For the price this is an excellent add to any computer with USB C, but especially AMD Ryzen based mini computers. In my experience transferring a 7GB Photo file to another internal M.2 drive at 230 to 300MB/s.

The media could not be loaded.  I was used to readers with horizontal input, so i said let me try the vertical ones. I started with this Maiwo one because it was cheap, looked simple and even it's working maybe I will have to update my review after confirming the read and write speeds. Thanks The transfer speed is around 600MB/s on a nvme ssd.

On both Windows and MacOS, the drive failed to be recognized. It wasn't the drive. I bought another USB-A type adapter and it worked perfectly. This product, just doesn't work and I would look for another.

One of my computers died recently. The latest files were on its c: drive, 256 GB WD NVMe SSD, nowhere else. The last backup did not include some files. I connected this MAIWO NVME Docking Station to another computer and plugged in the WD NVMe SSD. It worked like an USB memory stick. It saved my day.
