The real thing
I do my own veal stock when I have enough time and enough space in the freezer. This veal stock is the real thing. It’s excellent. Worth every penny. It makes such a difference to have a real stock in your soup or sauce. Creating a stew, ragu or a braise with real stock and leaving it to “ripen” in the fridge for a few days makes it much, much better. You cannot get the same effect with a stock cube or fake stock.

Very expensive, as it's totally unsalted and unreduced
I somehow assumed that this would be a concentrated veal stock, but it isn't. It is a thin liquid with very little taste, which also is totally unsalted. This means that it isn't suitable as a flavour enhancer, i.e. adding it to a stew will make nothing to the taste. If you want to use it to make 5dl of sauce with a veal flavour, you need to use half of the brick pack and then add salt and pepper in order to get any flavour. This makes it extremely expensive: more than £7 for that small amount of sauce! Unfortunately, no UK stores seem to sell veal stock in cubes or concentrated in stock pots or bottles, although veal stock is very common elsewhere in Europe. It's actually cheaper to buy Knorr's expensive beef stock pots.I'll stick to a mix of chicken and beef stock cubes, which is a decent subtitute to veal stock.
