This is a great companion on a road trip, on a bedside or coffee-table. The book is a new format for Gibson - it's not a "traditional book of Poetry" but more of a "greatest hits." format It has some of Andrea's best lines from older poems as well as some new material spattered in. It's separated into 3 categories: On Love, On Becoming and On The World. You can open to any page and find some fun one-liners or a thoughtful couplet. The Illustrations are adorable. I love this book.

Andrea Gibson has written poetry that all of us have felt within. When you feel words in your bones, you know it's deep. There were a few excerpts from her previous poems but a lot of new material. One of my favorites was, "The patriarchy taught me how to take a punch better than I could take a compliment." She really knows how to write poems that spark a fire within. This is why she's one of my favorite poets.

Every single word is gold. I absolutely adore this writer. I bought this and another one of theirs for my Mom while she was going through chemotherapy. They are perfect.
