Excellent budget tv
We have generally always gone for LG TVs on a budget and had very good service out of them. We went from a very large very heavy 42 inch TV in 2014 that is still going strong as a bedroom TV to a much more lightweight 50 inch that fit really hammered during COVID so only lasted 4 years to this 55 inch TCL. I had never had a TCL product before and reviews were mixed especially around the responsiveness of it's own operating system but this seems fine with Google TV no issues at all. The picture is excellent, 55 inches is a good size in our living room the best we have ever had and the sound we pump through a Panasonic AV amp anyway but from the TV is acceptable. The TV is very light and fitted straight onto our bracket, setup was very easy and we use a lot of the apps straight from Google TV which includes all the basic free channels and apps for all the subscription services such as Netflix and prime. Another bonus is that this has Chromecast built in so you can just cast content from your devices. On this experience I'll definitely consider buying this brand again.

Amazing TV
Got this after a ling hard look at other tv's and monitors as this was predominantly for my ps5 game/racing set up. This tv support HDMI 2.1 and also 120hz refresh rates, VRR and up to 240mhz. With the Games Master mode, this also allows you to choose extra options to enhance your gaming experience even further. With the addition of a soundbar purchased separately, which fits beautifully between the screen and the stand, I would have to say this is an outstanding tv, which matches all of the tricks of the larger brands. Lovely little touch as well with the stand brackets, which have a cover that pops off, to allow neat and tidy cable routing. Phenomenal

First TCL TV bought for movies and PS5
With all the bells and whistles this TV is good value for money, but there's some issues regarding gaming, sound, and motion. This is my honest opinion, the TV is good, and if you know how to mess around with settings some of the draw backs might not be too much of an issue. Gaming: 120hz, VRR, HGIG, ALLM, 4K All these features work but VRR has been an issue on some games forcing me to run the games with VRR off. Some games have ghosting and/or flickering, but worst comes to worst I turn VRR off. And to be honest, most games I don't think that's too much of An issue. Also some games will have flickering in menu, but not in game, but some will flicker in game and not menu. But I've not played a game I can't run in 120hz. I've been comfortable enough to run games in 120 with no crazy ghosting. The worst game I've noticed with flickering and ghosting was 'lies of p'. Other games like god of war, call of duty, overwatch, gran torismo have been fine with no issues in game with VRR on. Sound is crap, so definitely need sound bar if you want actual emersion. First time with a TCL so motion control coming from a nanocell LG has been sufficient, but I must say there is plenty motion options so I've not suffered with fixing judder/motion. Screen quality is very good regarding calibration of colours. The blacks are surprisingly good, day time the blacks are good and also night time with local dimming. There's some blooming on the dark but it's very minimal. Dolby works fine, not too dark, also HDR works fine and again not too dark like my LG. Overall I'll give this TV maybe 7/10 I'm critical about the VRR, motion and sound. It is a VA panel so ghosting is expected. I think for £600 55" the TV is decent. If I was to buy again I would probably put more money towards the tcl845 just simply for the miniled.

Want to tick all the PS5/Xbox Series X boxes? This has you covered
Very easy to setup, stand is deceptively simple even setting up alone. Xbox recognized the 4k 120hz Variable refresh rate straight out the box. Picture is very bright once you disable the eco modes, after using it for a while I was convinced my PC monitor's brightness had dropped, it hadn't.. the HDR is vivid, bright, the colours are sharp and accurate and i've seen zero ghosting in games. Input latency is great, and as far as smart features go it has everything you'd expect.
