Dulux 1.25L Professional Liquid Gloss White by Dulux

Having gone through my home glossing only around 2 yrs ago & being a non smoker & living here in my Newbuild at that point I’d lived here around 4 yrs the knots on my open staircase coming into my living room were showing through which is a common problem & having it pre/done before moving in they tend to rush the jobs & I got to work & if you read my reviews I’d chosen Johnstones interior for metal & wood this was a huge mistake & baffled has to why I’d trusted this brand . At 1st all seemed well I could clearly see even though it hadn’t been glossed that long before hand I got to work on the staircase banister & rails & it covered decently enough & covered the knots . The following day or so it still felt although dry to a point it was soft & although dry to the touch it felt as though you could easily scrape it off . Being at a age were I’d normally go through the whole house in a day widow sills skirting etc I had to do it in stages so I got to work on my window sill after 4 days it felt safe for me to place my plant pots back even though the stairs felt the same dry but soft . Then the doors . This has drove me crazy ever since painting it with that dreadful Johnstones paint the door looked yellow compared to the rest of the house even though I’d done it in stages I’d mixed it well but after 2 yrs it finally got so bad I decided I couldn’t bare looking at it any longer & decided to purchase this wonderful stuff . Oh I forgot 5 wks after I did the window sill I lifted up my pot plants & nik-naks & the gloss paint started lifting up like a huge circular bubble I was mortified. Luckily once wiping the sill down I covered the awful bubble back up with my pots . Now back to this wonderful paint although not prime nxt day it arrived within a few days via evri the lid taped & the box although not the strongest it protected my tin well enough. Today I placed it in a bowl of hot water has being cold it’s not has workable & I much prefer liquid gloss to the gel non drip form you can buy has it’s more spreadable giving it a even coat & by placing the tin to warm it up I feel it stirs better & applys better . Finally my door is brilliant white & that dreadful paint I chose before I can get to work doing the rest of my home & finally with a paint that drys hardened & is super white . That door has drove me nuts for the past 2 yrs & just by starting with that has greatly improved the look of my home . The other brand took months to fully cure this although I’ve only just finished it & im breathing in the fumes has I write this review I’m fully confident it will be dry come tomorrow & fully hardened in a day or so unlike the garbage I chose before . I’ve done the full door & im happy with it after just the one coat & it’s finally now super white something it never was after painting it with Johnstone’s gloss & the contents of the tin has hardly gone down so I’ll have plenty left to do not only this door but everywhere johnstones paint ruined my home With & probably still have some remaining . 5 huge ⭐️ for the product & also for this Amazon seller who despatched it super quick & received on the 2nd day of placing the initial order . Arrived one day early with email notification and text one hour before arrival. Used on doors, windowsills and trim. I like using this paint as it flows out very well to an excellent glossy finish. For the doors I found it best to use a small, smooth foam roller first for the best coverage, then lightly drag a brush through it after to get that perfectly smooth finish with no runs (gets rid of the eggshell pattern from the roller). I cannot see any noticeable yellowing of this paint. I have it throughout the house in full sun and in shade. It was painted over six months ago now and this small tin of paint was bought to finish an area beside a previously painted area - with no noticeable difference in colour. I have not used it on radiators, perhaps heat may be an issue with yellowing? Do use a good quality brush. The only downside I find with this paint is it takes a long time to dry and then cure properly but what you are left with is a very tough, very glossy finish. Finish is always dependant on the preparation beforehand - do not skip on the prep!

Goes on pretty smooth and covers well I did a small hallway in a flat 2 coats on skirting and 1 coat on 5 doors out of this can. Leaves it really shiny and looking amazing.
