Great with floor standing speakers - as good as the spikes they replaced
I have c25 year old Rega ELA floor speakers which have always had spikes on them and although we have a wooden floor they were each placed on a slate tile to help protect the floor while ensuring the best sound quality from these high end speakers. However, we recently moved everything around in the room and the new position of the speakers made the tiles look ugly and out of place (apparently!). So if the speakers were to stay in the room, a solution was needed - and this is it!I unscrewed the spikes (put them away for future use - ssh) and stuck a pad over each screw thread and that was as difficult as it got! Put the speakers back in situ, minus slate tiles and turned on the music waiting to be disappointed and so feel justified at being miffed about having to make the changes, but there is no discernible difference in sound quality. These are just as effective as the spikes I had been using at 4x the price! May not need to keep the spikes for the future after all.

Experimentation got the right result
These were delivered in good condition and I started by installing them under my CD player to isolate it from the rack shelf on which it sits.Although the individual pads have some compressibility the level of isolation did not appear to be particularly better that a set of rubber feet.I had ordered 8 and I thought I would experiment by removing the paper protecting the adhesive and combining two pads back to back. This of course doubles the cost using two pads for each foot but the level of isolation increases significantly. OK so the CD player will now rock slightly if physically pushed but this was the sort of compliance I was looking for. I'm therefore not disappointed by the outcome although I used all 8 pads for one device.

They remove the vibration effects from my humming DVR
I bought these to fit to a CCTV DVR that lives on my home office desk. The vibrations from this unit were so bad the whole desk area seemed to hum and I could feel the vibration through my mouse as I worked. I fitted these pads this morning and the difference is already remarkable. I still hear a gentle hum from vibration, but it is nowhere near as bad and I can't feel anything through my mouse or the desk.Although these pads are not cheap, my alternative was potentially buying a new DVR, so this is definitely the cheaper alternative!

They do work! I used them like so...
I needed a pair of robust speaker stands in a nice gloss black finish for a bedroom hi-fi setup, Holding some older bookshelf speakers I refurbished for sentimental value on this budget setup, these stands really brought out the best of the speakers, improving imaging and clarity. They are really easy to build and mechanically sturdy, I also added two sets of Fisual acoustic isolation adhesive pads to further improve separation and vibrations from the ground as these are on hardwood floors. I placed them on top of the stands as the small felt feet they come with didn't offer the greatest acoustical/vibration absorbance. And they worked way better, I will also be purchasing more to replace the spiked feet!

Non scratching speaker pads
It was very difficult to find hi-fi speaker supports which do not scratch a wooden floor. My large and ancient but wonderful KEF speakers need some isolation from the floor or they sound slightly muddy. There a many speaker spikes available, many with spike pads which are meant to prevent the floor from being scratched. However the spikes can be twisted or the pads come off and the foor is damaged when the speakers have to be moved. These pads are firm and rounded so only a small proportion of the pad connects with the floor. There is a slighty diffent tone coming from the speakers. The bass sounds slighty louder but not muddy and can be reduced slightly on the amplifier.

Does the job required...
I put these under a heavy down firing sub woofer with absolutely insane amounts of bass and with no way of turning it down as it's integrated within the system. I noticed one reviewer said he he received white hard plastic which is not the case, they are black hard rubber as described, can take a heavy weight with ease and definitely stops the bass travelling through the furniture it's standing on. Professional packaging and sent quickly this is easily a 5/5.

Used to stop vibration from Games console and Noise from sub
Had issues with neighbours complaining that they could hear our subwoofer from next door. These pads isolated the sub woofer effectively and removed this issue. Now we can hear it, and it prevents bad vibration through the floor.Ordered two sets, I used the other on the underside of my PS4 - You do not realise how much the console vibrates until you use these pads. Now I have silence instead of a droning noise!

Expensive waste of time. Returned for a refund!
I bought these isolation pads in the hope that they'd silence a noisy Sky Q box. However, the rubber compound on these pads is actually more firm than that used on the feet of the box itself. As a result, the resonated noise generated by the box actually increased! After a day, I removed them and returned them to Amazon for a refund.
