It's a horrible experience to use, but it works!
Killed my strep throat. What I've found works is, you need to say "AAAHHHH" while at the same time spraying profusely until you literally gag. The gag is the only way to know for certain you hit the back of your throat. Then spit out the excess. So yeah, horrible user experience, but that's not really the product's fault. Will be keeping this on stock.Pro tip: Only use this when you see white spots on the back of your throat. But if you feel a tingle in your throat, immediately start gargling 3x/day with Betadine's sore throat gargle. It's 0.5% iodine (which is a third the strength of this stuff). That way you can just prevent it while it's weak and also not have to go through the horrible gagging experience.

Feels soothing, not sure of effectiveness. LOWER strength than the Gargle, not 3x higher.
A prominent review for this product claims that the gargle is "0.5% iodine (which is a third the strength of this stuff)" and suggests it for earlier use, before you need the extra strength they seem to think this has. That's either outdated or just a misunderstanding. The Betadine brand gargle is indeed 0.5% povidone-iodine, but this sore throat spray is only 0.45%. This isn't three times stronger than the gargle; it's actually slightly weaker. The spray nozzle on this little bottle doesn't work wonderfully, so you do get a decent amount on your tongue. I don't personally gag from it, but people who do (including that mistaken reviewer) should probbably just use the gargle. The taste is .. strange, and like many other reviews I don't have anything useful to compare it to. It doesn't taste like something edible, but it's fairly bland and not objectionable. The single way I might try to describe it - ever tasted a coin? Pennies have a metallic taste, one that's unlike any food flavors but also not the sort of horrible 'this is chemical and I should spit it out' reflex you'd get from particularly harsh medicines. Weird, but at worst only barely unpleasant - better than most medicines. It offers fairly quick relief - something about the coating is actually directly soothing or pain relieving. I'm skeptical of the scientific papers vouching for its effectiveness in the throat. I'm NOT a medical doctor, but I am a professional biologist. I have access through my institution to the actual paywalled scientific journals where these studies are published; however, literally 100% of the studies I could find that suggest it works in the throat (3 papers) were paid for by the parent company, Mundipharma. (I believe it's now owned by iNova, but that sale happened after these publications). I would be happier if I could find unbiased sources with evidence of its effectiveness.

Works!
I am putting up a picture of the original packaging to show what it used to look like. I just purchased and received the newest one in the blue spray bottle. I want to say it works and I recommend it for helping with sore, scratchy and itchy throats. The original one I purchased in Hong Kong now home in Oregon USA I don’t find it but Amazon comes through again. To use it, open wide and say ahhhh, and shoot in a spray. It is so relieving. I think people in radio, TV, public speaking should always keep one of these in their pocket.

Stay well
My doctor recommended i use this especially when I travel to help prevent getting sick.It tastes good. While I cant say how well it works, I have not gotten sick since using this. Just a couple of sprays is worth it.

Good spray to aid in relief
I am not sure why, but the first spray tasted like I drank pool water. Tried it a couple more times the past couple days and it just leaves a minty taste in my mouth. Doesn't numb the throat like other sore throat sprays, but my throat has felt better today than it has past few days.
