Replacement Side Cover Slider Part KIT for Sony WH1000XM3 WH-1000XM3 Headphones CentralSound

Replaced my broken ones with these and it does a good job. Colour and look is different from the originals, but if you replace both it looks fine. The ratcheting to extend and close is stiff and not a nice clicking motion you get from the old ones, but once you have the size fit you don’t adjust them much eaxh time you use them, and once set they don’t move! A good replacement and should last a long time. A bit awkward to replace as the screws are tiny and I dropped them a few times, so do it on the table! But straight forward to replace and once clipped together a solid fit. Good replacement at a fraction of the cost for Sony ones.

I had the unfortunate decay of the headphone side covers that seems to be very common. These things are durable, I ordered the black onces and they have a bit of texture but I like it. I attached them and made my headset off color after I added new ear pads as well. These gave my headphones a unique look and they feel extrememly sturdy. I lack no faith that the speakers will fail before these side covers will. Big clap to the people who made this alternate design as well, so much better than the original and cannot be any more satisfied with a product.

You get exactly what is described, the replacements fit perfectly and the instructions are very easy to follow, definitely a good replacement for the broken parts.

Where do I start. It is kind of hard to get excited about paying 60 bucks for 4 small pieces of plastic but options are limited. Unfortunately every component has terrible quality and the components all show signs of wrong built (looks like 3d print with residue all over the place) The screwdriver is actually not a screwdriver (only 3 “teeth”) and does not fit, so I had to borrow a screwdriver from the neighbour. The logic of how the components are printed is also slightly different from the original sony components and they do not fit together. The end result is more than disappointing and there are huge gaps between inner and outer part. Despite the gaps, the slider hardly moves because components are differently engineered and it’s a very rough material. Had I paid $10 I’d say “meh”, but $60 is offensive for this product…

The parts seem to be sturdy. It would be nice if they also came in grey to match my grey headphones. The screwdriver shipped was defective and only had 3 prongs, so I had to use my own.
